Report: Comment From Triple H Toward Daniel Bryan in Last Night’s RAW Promo Rubbed Many the Wrong Way

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, there were several notable backstage happenings at last night’s RAW.  You can read the entire list here, but there are a few that I’ll highlight below.

First is that the show was originally laid out much differently before being changed at the last minute.  Original plans called for Cody Rhodes and Goldust to face The Shield in a 2-on-3 Handicap Match.  Vince McMahon didn’t like that direction and opted to open the show with Daniel Bryan vs Dean Ambrose to the beginning of the show and then insert Cody Rhodes and Goldust in the tag team match between The Shield and The Uso’s.

Second is that Triple H’s comments about Daniel Bryan not being a star and being similar to guys like Chris Jericho, Edge, and Rob Van Dam left a sour taste in the mouths of many backstage.  Many felt as if Triple H was burying Daniel Bryan as a performer as opposed to playing the villain and criticizing Bryan in a way that Bryan could defend himself.  The belief now is that Triple H vs Daniel Bryan may now be in the cards for the end of the year with Bryan going over.
