Former ECW, TWA, & NWF Hardcore Wrestling Star Don Clyde (AKA DC Drake) Passes Away at 55

0

RF Video’s Rob Feinstein just posted the following on his personal Facebook about former ECW, TWA, and NWF Star DC Drake being found dead:

“Just heard that sad news that DC Drake passed away. I remember DC from old TWA days. He was one of those great brawlers and had some great matches with JT Smith and countless others. I knew he was sick and he blamed it on steroids. So for all of you “workers” out there that think size matters well look at what your doing to yourselves and realize you don’t need to be big to be a great worker. Paul E Normous another incredible guy outside the ring that faced the same fate due to juice. Just food for thought….Ourcondolences go out to the friends and family of DC Drake.”

Drake was a former NWF and TWA heavyweight champion.  Drake also had a stint in ECW where he was recruited by Nancy Benoit to help get Cactus Jack out of ECW.

In 1991, Drake was ranked#178 on the PWI Top 500 list.

We will post more details as we receive them.

“I’ve had so many people who inspired me along the way so it’s hard to pinpoint one person,” she said. “You’re only as good as the people you’re in the ring with, you know, and to be able to work that magic with whoever you’re in there with and have different chemistry with everyone and their styles and move sets, and you just work it, I guess.”
