Ring of Honor officials are happy to announce that two more athletes have signed on the dotted line with ROH. Adam Cole & Kyle O’Reilly, fresh off the biggest weekend of their careers at “Tag Team Turmoil 2011” & “No Escape”, have put their signature to paper and have re-signed with ROH.
Cole & O’Reilly recently earned a future Tag Team Title opportunity in Richmond, VA with their victory over The Bravados in the Tag Contenders Lottery, and proved their mettle against The American Wolves the following night in Charlotte, NC. Unfortunately O’Reilly suffered an accidental injury at the hands of Eddie Edwards in that match, and had been ordered to rest it.
“Adam and Kyle have proven themselves against the best teams in ROH this year.” stated Executive Producer Jim Cornette, “With their fights against The Briscoes, the Kings, Haas & Benjamin, and the Wolves…not to mention earning themselves a title shot, Cole and O’Reilly are poised to make 2011 their year here in ROH.”
Cole & O’Reilly are scheduled to be in action when ROH returns to Chicago Ridge, IL on August 13th for our 1st ever SBG TV Tapings and Kyle assures ROH officials that he will be 100% and ready to go in time for that historic date. Tickets for that live event can be found here, http://www.rohstore.com/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=201, and keep an eye on ROHWrestling.com for all the details about the TV Tapings!

The All Night Express are far from finished with The Kings of Wrestling. Both Rhett Titus & Kenny King have tasted the Chris Hero’s loaded elbow pad, King at the “9th Anniversary Show” and Titus at “BITW 2011”, and both times it has directly impacted the results of a World Tag Title bout. Twice now the ANX have been screwed over by Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli, and now one member of the ANX will have a chance at revenge when Rhett Titus goes one-on-one with Chris Hero in Richmond, VA!
“This is the opportunity of a lifetime for you Rhett Titus!” stated Hero, “This is your chance to have a moment, a genuine moment, in front of the fans that have come to embrace you and Kenny King over the last year. It’s your chance to stand tall over Chris Hero and claim victory, to get revenge for whatever imagined slight the Kings of Wrestling have committed against you. The problem, Rhett, is that I don’t think you have it in you. As a matter of fact, I know you don’t have it in you to step up to the plate and knock one out of the park. The only thing getting knocked out on Friday night in Richmond Rhett Titus, the only thing getting knocked out will…be…you!”
As was announced last week in the 6/30 Newswire, Claudio Castagnoli will not be in attendance in either Richmond or Charlotte as he will be “handling business”, according to Shane Hagadorn, so Hero will have to face the wrath of one-half of the ANX all by himself in Virginia. Titus vs. Hero this Friday night in Richmond, tickets are available here: http://www.rohstore.com/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=209.

During the bonus main event of WWE champion John Cena vs. The Miz, there was a spot where Cena threw Miz out of the ring and Miz landed wrong and awkwardly on his leg.
Correspondents have indicated Miz acted hurt to the extent that it appeared he may have broken his leg. Miz was carried away from ringside by paramedics after the apparent injury.
Cena showed concern as Miz was taken away and the match simply ended without an announced finish. Cena then thanked the fans for attending to conclude the taping.

The WWE Tough Enough season finale is set to air LIVE from the RAW taping in Richmond, Virginia. All trainers and cast members will be brought back for the show. That means Steve Austin, etc. will appear LIVE on RAW next week.
The current plan is to pitch to the footage that was taped at FCW on 5/19, which shows footage of finalists Andy and Luke wrestling. They’ll be using other material that was shot several weeks back. That will air before RAW and then the winner will be announced LIVE on RAW. There was some talk of the winner wrestling on RAW that night, but it is not confirmed.

ROHWrestling.com recently released the following:
Steve Corino finds himself in a transitional period right since Kevin Steen had to leave Ring of Honor. Corino acted as the friend, advisor and tag team partner of Steen throughout 2010, and was the man many felt was responsible for driving the wedge between Steen & El Generico. Corino more than lived up to his devious reputation throughout the year by aiding Steen in his violent battle with El Generico; using every tool at his disposal, from violent weapons to evil mind games, to rid ROH of the Generic Luchador. Corino’s ultimate goal seemed to be an attempt to take his protégé Kevin Steen to the top of ROH but in order to do that Corino & Steen felt that El Generico had to be eliminated.
Over the last couple months, as Steen became increasingly unstable, it became obvious that Corino was second guessing his choices. Steen went beyond any form of control that Corino had over him and that ultimately lead to Steen’s departure. Corino has stated that in hindsight he realizes that Kevin should have just forgot about Generico and worried about the ROH World title. Corino said that El Generico was not worth what happened and he feels remorse for instigating the situation because now Kevin is gone. Corino blames himself and only himself for the departure of Kevin Steen and this has eaten away at him ever since.
Coming into Richmond, VA last Friday night, no one was sure what version of Steve Corino would enter the Richmond Raceway, but absolutely no one expected “The King of Old School” to tell the world that it was time for him to enter “rehab”.
Corino gave a speech about the New Year and his future goals. Corino said the end result of the Kevin Steen story is something he doesn’t want to see happen to anybody else ever again, and, after all these years, he is attempting to change his ways.
Corino said he realizes that he became powerless over Steen during the last couple months and his life has become unmanageable because of Steen. After Final Battle Corino said that he searched and took a moral inventory of his life. Corino realized the exact nature of his wrong and has had an awakening as a result of Final Battle.
He stated that he does not get the respect in the locker room like people such as Christopher Daniels because people do not trust him. Corino said that he recognizes that his career over the years has been filled with cheating, manipulation, and debauchery. Corino said that outside of wrestling he is a good father and generous person but when around the wrestling industry he becomes a different person. Corino stated that he doesn’t want to see what happened to Steen happen to anyone else and as a show of amends has decided the most positive thing he can do is give back to the younger generation and teach them the right way to go about things. Corino hopes to take all the negative energy he has been filled with over the years and focus it in a positive way and give advice as a mentor and respect the sport by playing fair.
Nobody expected this sudden change in personality from Steve Corino. Corino has always been a master of manipulation and mind games so it is very hard to tell if this new attitude is sincere.
Even if Corino is sincere in his new year’s resolution, just like an alcoholic trying to put down the drink, it will most certainly be hard for Corino to quit his devious ways cold turkey. It almost seems to be in his nature to be a rule breaker, to push the limits of respectability, and to give into the violence. In both of Corino’s bouts in Richmond, VA and Charlotte, NC, Corino reflexively went for shady tricks and illegal moves but stopped himself mid-way through.
Corino will have to fight his in-ring illegal addictions and compulsions. It will not be easy as many expect Corino to go back to his evil ways very soon.
For Steve Corino, It will be one step at a time. We will have words from Corino in next week’s Video Wire, while ROH officials and fans alike anxiously wait to see if Corino can stay on the wagon.
