Extreme Rising sent out the following today…
SABU: We have gotten literally hundreds of emails and postings concerning Sabu. Comments and questions about his health and well being, but the million dollar question is “WILL SABU BE ON THE 6/29 CORONA, NY AND 6/30 PHILADELPHIA, PA EVENTS?” Here is where things stand, right now today.
Sabu, under heavy Extreme Reunion office urging and support, we pleaded with him to enter rehab to get the help for himself. Sabu was in contact with the office, specifically Cody Michaels and Shane Douglas, the week after April 28th show (and weekly), profusely apologizing for the “Philadelphia Incident” Extreme Reunion 4/28 weekend. In addition, Sabu has asked for forgiveness and for reconsideration in future bookings. The Extreme Rising office has been pleased that Sabu checked himself into a treatment center located on the West Coast in May.
So where do things stand now you ask??? First, we care most for the recovery and health of all our staff. Second, all the partners of 5 Guys Wrestling / Extreme Rising have agreed that upon completion of doctors approval, we would consider having Sabu participating in Extreme Reunion future events. Could Sabu appear 6/29 & 6/30? He could. He is not booked, or scheduled right now. If he was booked; rest assured we would announce it in a heartbeat. There is some hope that Sabu could be in NY and Philly, but again we do not know. If and when Sabu is cleared and confirmed YOU ALL WILL BE THE FIRST TO KNOW.
To clear up RUMORS, Raven will not be appearing 6/29 Corona, NY and 6/30 in Philadelphia, PA. REPEAT, Raven will not be at EXTREME RISING.

Extreme Reunion has finally released the iPPV version of their debut event from Philadelphia. The original plan was to release the event the next day after but the production team dropped the ball and the entire show had to be edited from scratch. The iPPV download also includes an actual DVD of the event and can be downloaded at extremereunion.net. The next Extreme Reunion event will take place on June 30th in Philadelphia but talents are also being booked for a potential Northeastern show on June 29th.

Most people within WWE did not know Shane Douglas was in the building for last night’s RAW Supershow until they read it online. Douglas was trying to unmask and be seen on TV but it didn’t work out that way.
Security, believing Douglas had sneaked into the show, detained Douglas as he tried to get an ECW chant going and walked from the arena out into the concourse. The people that were with Douglas exited the building and once he produced a ticket for security to see, they had to let him exit as well.
Douglas flew back home to Pittsburgh last night after RAW. The stunt was done as a way to promote his upcoming Extreme Reunion project.

Shane Douglas announced today during the CZW show at the ECW Arena that there will be an “Extreme Reunion” on Saturday 4/28 at the Philadelphia National Guard Armory. More info on the latest ECW reunion show is at ExtremeReunion.net. There will be a meet and greet before the show starts. This show will apparently be the start of a longer project, not just a one-time show.

WWE.com has an article up with John Cena talking about his new movie, The Reunion. In the article, Cena talks about
doing his own stunts and being scared of heights.
“I’m deathly afraid of heights,” he admitted. “There’s a scene involving heights and helicopters. I hated it. I did it. Absolutely, I did it, but hated it.”

John Cena (Image via RottenTomatoes.com)
WWE Studios’ The Reunion with John Cena has received another negative review from The Hollywood Reporter. Here are some of their quotes:
“Latest effort from WWE Studios is pinned to the mat.”
“There’s one thing to be said about WWE Studios — they’re consistent. Every one of their movies designed to showcase their stable of popular wrestling stars has been a critical and commercial disaster. The latest example is The Reunion, a lame action-comedy that seems ready made for undiscerning late-night cable viewing. This John Cena starrer receiving a token theatrical release provides further evidence that perhaps films are not the company’s forte.”
“But mainly the proceedings revolve around the expected action sequences, leavened by attempts at comedy, that fall flat in both areas. Needless to say, Cena is an imposing physical specimen, but after this and such previous efforts as 12 Rounds and The Marine it may be time for him to concentrate on the ring.”

The Orlando Sentinel’s Roger Moore has reviewed WWE Studios’ The Reunion with John Cena and has some negative things to say about WWE’s latest effort. Moore gave the movie a one-star review Here are some quotes for the review:
“Now Mike Pavone’s last picture for WWE comes out, “The Reunion,” a split personality action comedy that fails to please either impulse. The action is wan, the laughs hard to come by. They spent the money, as they often did under Pavone, on surrounding a wrestling star with decent actors (Amy Smart, Ethan Embry, Michael Rispoli). But an incoherent script gives them too little to do.”
“Wrestler John Cena has become a comfortable screen presence, within a certain range. He’s OK as a cop on disciplinary leave forced to form a sort of bounty hunters business with his siblings in order for them all to receive an inheritance.”
“Coming at the end of a string of flops, “The Reunion” makes one wonder about the motives and business model for this whole enterprise.”
