Speaking of WWE Films, David Otunga is about to begin filming for The Hive. The movie will feature Hollywood star Halle Berry. Otunga is expected to be off TV similar to The Miz while filming for the movie takes place. Otunga debuted a new look for the film, shaving off his signature goatee. Here is a pic below:
WWE did two off-camera segments during last night’s WWE SmackDown tapings in Evansville, Indiana. The first saw Jerry Lawler interrupt a post-match promo by Jack Swagger. Lawler came out to a big reaction from the crowd and hit Swagger with a fistdrop from the second rope.
The other segment saw David Otunga hang around in the ring after his match to pose and show off. Triple H came out and hit a Pedigree, sending Otunga out of the ring. Booker T then hit Otunga and ended the segment with a Spin-a-rooni in the ring.
WWE Superstar David Otunga and his son are featured in the new issue of Ebony Magazine’s “Super Dads” column. Otunga said the following about trying to live a normal family life:
“Jennifer and I try to keep things as normal as possible. I’m very big on having a [regular] family life. We always go out, just the three of us, no security, and I’m there to make sure things are in order. If we worry about people stopping us and bothering us, it takes away from having fun. I’m pretty good at ensuring we can have family days while keeping it low-key.”
On last night’s episode of WWE Smackdown, Brodus Clay was attacked by David Otunga.
WWE has released a fictional injury update that states Clay has suffered a torn MCL in his left knee. WWE says Clay has been “medically cleared” to face Otunga in the No Way Out PPV pre-show match, but Clay will still be “undergoing rehabilitation over the next several weeks.”

David Otunga is expected to return to television shortly after fiancee’s Jennifer Hudson’s former brother-in-law was convicted Thursday of murdering her mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew. Otunga and Hudson were spotted at Six Flags less than 24 hours after the verdict was announced.
David Otunga was not at Monday’s RAW Supershow from Detroit because he was with fiancee Jennifer Hudson and her family. Hudson testified on Monday at the trial of the man accused of killing her mother, brother and 7 year old nephew. Hudson is expected to sit through the entire trial so it’s possible Otunga will be there with her daily. Otunga was mentioned in the media yesterday but articles said he was best known for his time on VH1 and had no mention of WWE.
For what it’s worth, Otunga indicated he would indeed be at Sunday’s Extreme Rules from his hometown of Chicago. Otunga tweeted on Monday:

This is my first time actually being in a match on this stage, let alone in a featured match with the 12-man tag match with Team Teddy taking on Team Johnny. I’ve grown in every way imaginable from my ring work to character development and everything. The scary thing is I’m just getting started.”

“I didn’t have muscles, I didn’t always look this good,” Otunga said at the rally. “I had real thick glasses too and I was a little bit chubby, and I used to get picked on a lot.”

According to TMZ, WWE Superstar David Otunga was in court on Thursday to defend a man who claimed he was wrongfully terminated and denied unemployment benefits from a former job. Otunga and the man appeared in front of the New York Department of Labor and won the case. The man will now get his unemployment benefits.
Otunga, who graduated from Harvard Law, worked the case for free.
Actress and singer Jennifer Hudson appeared on NBC’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno this weekend and confirmed that she and fiancee David Otunga would be getting married later this year.
Hudson talked about Otunga working for WWE and their son David Jr. wanting to be a wrestler, noting that he knew the wrestling moves better than “Big David.”
