John Cena, who is currently dating former WWE Diva Nikki Bella, spent the Christmas holidays with her family, as well as Brie’s boyfriend, WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan. Here is a group photo of the wrestlers with the twin duo’s father.

WWE’s romance storyline with John Cena and AJ Lee was placed on the back burner on Raw Monday as a result of photos surfacing online of the Cenation leader appearing as former WWE Diva Nikki Bella’s date at her ten-year high-school reunion in Scottsdale, Arizona two weeks ago. The photos received a lot of publicity from TMZ, so continuing Cena’s storyline with Lee just three days later would have thrown it “in the face of the fans.” The storyline is expected to resume later this month.
Cena’s character was depicted as “goofy” and “happy-go-lucky” because WWE wanted to promote the positive vibe around him based on the publicity he had received.
Cena’s date with Bella was legitimate as they have been together “for a little while.”

A WWE source confirms that the photos of John Cena and Nikki Bella at her high school reunion that were published on TMZ were not staged in any way at all. WWE has done angles with TMZ in the past, such as Triple H’s haircut, but this was not something that was planned.
Word is that Cena and Nikki are indeed an item and have been dating since May.
We previously reported that the Beth Phoenix injury was part of the storylines so she could drop the Divas Title to Nikki Bella in preparation for Kharma’s return. Beth posted a photo of herself at a doctor’s office yesterday for a MRI and last night, posted the following photo of her foot. You can click to enlarge:
Beth will face Divas Champion Nikki Bella at Extreme Rules tonight and WWE is playing up the fact that her ankle is bothering her.

WWE diva Beth Phoenix played up her injury on this past Monday’s RAW by tweeting out the following:
“More tests. Fingers crossed. http://bit.ly/IJHfrj”
The link proceeds to a picture of Phoenix standing with “MRI Scanner” in the backdrop.
- As noted before, Beth Phoenix did the injury angle on RAW and lost the Divas Title to Nikki Bella to set up Kharma’s return to TV.
WWE officials have wanted to bring Kharma back and make her a monster champion from the start but felt that Kharma vs. Phoenix is the money match and should be saved for down the line. No word yet on when WWE plans on holding the Kharma vs. Phoenix match.
One plan had Kharma squashing Nikki for the Divas Title at either Extreme Rules or on RAW the following night. If Nikki doesn’t drop the title this coming Sunday or Monday, it’s a sign that she and sister Brie have signed contract extensions with the company.

New WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella wrote on Twitter last night that “The Bella Era” has begun and that “Naughty Nikki has arrived. She also thanked fans for their support:
“Thank you #BellaArmy for your support! Hope I made you proud tonight! I’m DIVAS CHAMPION! Finally! Can’t tell you how I feel right now! #RAW”
Brie and Nikki Bella are scheduled for next week’s television events at The O2 Arena in London, England but not any house shows. As reported earlier, the twin duo is expected to part ways with WWE after their respective contracts expire on April 30.
Nikki Bella noted on her Twitter that she and her sister are currently in New York, so they are not working the WWE house shows in Europe. They may be flown in to do TV next week.
As previously reported, WWE Divas Brie and Nikki Bella, seem to be on their way out of the company. Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that WWE sources are now confirming both Brie and Nikki Bella will be done with the company once their deals expire at the end of the month on Monday, April 30. No news on why the Bellas are leaving the company or on their future plans have been revealed yet. We will keep you updated on the story.
