As everyone knows by now, this past Monday’s RAW featured the first night that Triple H was “in charge” as well as the returns of John Morrison, Jim Ross and CM Punk.
We noted earlier here on the website that RAW was completely re-written prior to the show going live. In an update on this, there were actually SIX different scripts for RAW that had been circulating throughout the day. One of those scripts had Triple H laying out CM Punk with a pedigree. Of course, that didn’t happen. This just goes to show you how much things change on a daily basis in WWE.
As most would assume, the obvious scenario would be to really push CM Punk to the top considering his recent storyline angle and fan interest. With that being said, most of the RAW scripts were not about having CM Punk go over. They were more about pushing Triple H’s new “authority figure” role. Surprised?!
As noted, the original RAW script called for CM Punk to be attacked by Triple H with a pedigree. Alberto Del Rio would then have come out and cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase against John Cena at SummerSlam. This would have put Triple H over as a major heel and then led to a storyline with CM Punk.
Of course, all scripts besides one were scrapped and that’s what you saw on Monday night.

WWE Smackdown (Airing Friday)
Triple H came out to open the show and said he re-signed CM Punk to a WWE contract on Monday night. World Heavyweight Champion Christian came out and it’s announced he’ll defend the title against Randy Orton in a No Holds Barred Match at SummerSlam.
R-Truth came out and said he was there to continue what they started on Raw. He talked of the conspiracy against him. Triple H announced R-Truth vs Randy Orton for Smackdown, and also announced that Christian vs. John Morrison was up next.
Backstage, Triple H and Teddy Long were interrupted by Zack Ryder. Hunter announced that Ryder will be Long’s new assistant.
Christian defeated John Morrison. Christian really played up the heel antics. Morrison looked great in his return match, according to Wesley. There was a botched reversal at one point that looked bad. In the end, Morrison executed a backdrop off the top rope and tried unsuccessfully to follow up with Starship Pain. Christian hit the Killswitch and got the win.
Wade Barrett comes out and cuts a promo on Daniel Bryan. Bryan comes out and says Heath Slater cut the same promo last week and he made him tap out. Barrett punches him and taunts him with his own Money in the Bank briefcase. Daniel eventually counters and puts Barrett in the LeBell Lock.
Backstage, Teddy Long is talking to Zack Ryder. Mark Henry walks up to them and Ryder tells him that he will find him an opponent.
The Nexus vs. The Uso Brothers was advertised for later in the show.
Alicia Fox, Rosa Mendes, and Melina defeated Natalya, AJ, and Kaitlyn. Fox hit her axe kick on Kaitlyn and got the pin.
There was a Justin Gabriel video that showed him at home in South Africa.
Mark Henry beat Bobby Heller. Heller is a local wrestler from the Philly area. Henry destroyed him in a squash with two World Strongest Slams and a killer backbreaker.
Henry grabbed a chair, but Teddy Long stopped him from using it by saying he had a lawsuit pending and no one wants to fight him. Sheamus mades his entrance and said he will fight Henry. Sheamus slapped Henry and then tossed him out of the ring. Sheamus grabbed a chair and Henry retreated.
Michael McGillicutty and David Otunga defeated The Uso Brothers to retain the WWE Tag Titles. The Uso Brothers did their tribal dance to no reaction whatsoever. New Nexus came out to Justin Gabriel’s theme song. Weird. The Uso Brothers showed a lot of energy and worked in some double team moves. However, McGillicutty hit his neckbreaker to get the win for his team.
Backstage, Johnny Curtis says he will make his Smackdown debut next week.
The Raw Rebound airs showing Rey Mysterio Winning the WWE Championship, Jim Ross returning, John Cena vs. Mysterio, Cena winning the WWE Championship and CM Punk returning.
Backstage, Matt Striker interviews R-Truth. R-Truth says a good R-Truth is a bad R-Truth. He says he’s like an eagle swooping down and grabbing a snake like a viper.
Backstage, Ryder booked Ezekiel Jackson in a handicap match against Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes.
Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase defeated Ezekiel Jackson in a handicap match. Decent heat for the heels. The paper bag men were out for the crowd. DiBiase started and was getting destroyed. He tagged Cody, who tagged back to Ted. DiBiase applied a sleeper. Zeke picked him up with one arm. Zeke had Cody in the Torture Rack, but Ted broke it up and Cody hit CrossRhodes for the win.
Jinder Mahal and The Great Khali cut a promo in Punjabi from the second level of the arena. “USA” chants fill the arena.
R-Truth defeats Randy Orton by DQ. Truth had a lot of heat on him. World Heavyweight Champion Christian comes out to watch the match from the top of the ramp. R-Truth gets the win via disqualification when Orton uses a chair. After the match, Orton hits an RKO on R-Truth on the announce table, breaking it.

John Morrison and Melina have returned from their WWE promotional tour of Asia. Morrison appeared at last night’s FCW event in Gainesville, Florida without Melina, who was advertised to be there. Morrison signed autographs before the show and later took part in an angle.
Before the main event, Lucky Cannon, Damien Sandow and Dean Ambroe (the former Jon Moxley) came to the ring and talked about being upset that Morrison’s face was all over promotional material for the show. This brought out Morrison, who introduced FCW 15 Champion Seth Rollins, FCW Champion Bo Rotundo and hometown star Titus O’Neill. Morrison celebrated in the ring with Team Rollins after their win in the six-man match.

WWE Hall Of Famer Shawn Michaels was a guest on this Monday’s edition of Wrestling News Live. “The Showstopper” joined WNL for a 70 minute interview that can be heard here starting at the 80 minute.
Below are some of the highlights:
Shawn’s thoughts on Scott Hall missing his WWE Hall Of Fame induction: “You have to admire him, You’ve gotta start somewhere and I remember Kevin telling me and me thinking “you know what, that’s gotta be a good start. The fact that he is aware of it and I think that’s good as that’s what we all want for(him). I know everything one is synthetic and everyone cares about Scott and we all do and I was actually really happy to hear that he’s at least aware of it to the point where he can make a statement like that. As we discussed that night, we all know there is going to be several other Hall Of Fame moments for some of the dudes in our group.”
Shawn’s thoughts on his induction into the WWE Hall Of Fame: “It’s one of those things like winning your first world championship that you always tell people about and its moments like that when it is all real. It doesn’t matter what all the nay-Sayers say about our line of work and those moments, it’s the most real thing in the world and to get to share it with your present family and your work family and the guys that were the only family I had for many years on the road and being acknowledged in my line of work and having all the people, my extended family (there), it is very easy for me to well up and cry like a baby when I think about it because there is such an attachment for me to all of those people….. There is such a special connection from me to the people and I think it’s because they they knew how I felt about that line of work and how much it meant to me.”
Shawn’s thoughts on how the product has changed: “I don’t wana be one of those old timers that continually knock everything because on one hand it’s very tough on the younger talent these days as they are not having the luxury of what we had which is years of experience and countless matches with countless different styles before we came to the WWE. They are getting thrown from the frying pan into the fire.”
Shawn’s thoughts on a return to WWE: “One, honestly I really don’t watch much right now and I do that purposely. I’ll tune in every now and then and I’ll tune in for a little bit then see something that I don’t care for and I go away. The reason I do that is because if I watch and I see something I don’t like and I turn away, I know that I’m not ready to come back and look at it objectively yet . I think there will be a time when I’d like to come back and help and contribute in the back if needed but to do that, I feel like I need to have a real washed, clean, objective, constructive point of view and for me personally, it feels like whilst I was working, I did not watch that much as I always felt I was too close to it to be objective.”
Shawn’s thoughts on John Morrison: “His name comes up a lot, and a lot of people say “I like him but…” and he’s a young guy and it’s my understanding that he just got injured and as much as you hate hearing about a guy getting injured, it’s never good but at the same time, I remember telling John Cena when he got hurt, “Dude they need to see you come back”. It’s part of the “warrior making” stage and so I think John (Morrison) some time but as the kids like to say, “He has to get some street cred”, He’s got to take some lumps, gotta take on a couple of scars, get beaten up a little but I certainly think there is potential there. He certainly has all the physical attributes that he needs. He is a sweetheart of a guy and I think that is what hurts him, I just don’t think he has a bad bone in his body.”
Shawn on why he choose not to hold the World Title one last time: “No, No I didn’t. That’s(holding the belt) is a full time commitment and the guy that does that needs to make every show, doing absolutely everything and that just wasn’t for me. The deal with me coming back was still worth quite a bit but I didn’t do all the live events and I was taking darn near every Wrestlemania off. That was just something, it was more important to me just to come back and I’m gona be honest, I like it more than the way I did. I know there are some people like “You only held the world title this many times” I just didn’t think it (was fair), I think the guy who does that needs to be the work horse and I no way wanted to be that.”

Following recent neck surgery to alleviate pain from a pinched nerve, John Morrison provided this update on Twitter regarding his physical therapy:
“I appreciate all the great tweets wishing me a speedy recovery… I haven’t been able to do any rehab yet…”
“…but eventually, I will come back stronger than I’ve ever been (& with more knowledge of medical TV shows than I ever wanted) ”
Shortly after Morrison’s procedure, it was reported by the WWE website and by Jim Ross’s blog that Morrison would be back in the ring in 1-2 months .. Since he has yet to begin physical therapy, chances are his return will be later than sooner, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing coming off neck surgery.

John Morrison met a 13 year old fan of his from the Kids Wish Network before WWE’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view a few weeks back. This was the first time that Morrison had been requested by a kid getting a wish granted.
Sin Cara also recently granted his first wish as a WWE Superstar as he met a fan from the Make-A-Wish Foundation at a recent WWE event in Orlando, Florida. Cara spoke to the fan through a translator and told WWE.com the following: “I love being with the public. I feel that it’s my duty to give back to them. I’m very proud and honored that a child would ‘Make-A-Wish’ to meet me.”

The latest issue of WWE Magazine features Edge’s “Final Interview” with the publication, after he announced his retirement last month. He discusses his most difficult days in the squared circle, the new generation of WWE, online impersonators, the legacy of the Spear and more.
Despite retiring, the “Rated-R Superstar” isn’t completely removing himself from the wrestling industry as he states in the interview that he plans to assist WWE’s next generation of stars.
An excerpt from the interview is as follows:
You are the only Superstar to win the King of the Ring tournament, the Royal Rumble, and a Money in the Bank Ladder Match. You’ve also main-evented ‘Mania. Now that you’ve retired from the ring, is there anything you feel you didn’t accomplish?
I wish the European Championship were still around. That way, I could have thrown the title on the résumé, too. I am a collector. But now, more than anything for me, it’s about trying to help the next generation, kind of in the same way the last generation helped. I’ll give advice to anyone: Sheamus, John Morrison, Drew McIntyre or Dolph Ziggler.
You’re taking an interest in WWE’s younger talent, but you’ve failed to mention your one-time protégé, Zack Ryder. Have you seen his Web series, “Z! True Long Island Story”?
No, I have not. As I’ve fully admitted in the past, I’m not an Internet guy. I would like to take this time now to say that I don’t have a Facebook page. My mom is very bothered by the world of Facebook and people claiming to be me online. I don’t get too worked up about it, but it really gets Christian hot on Twitter. He calls out people who say they’re Edge. But back to Zack–I think he’s a very underutilized Superstar on the roster, and I feel the same about Curt Hawkins, too. I’d like to showcase what they can do and remind everyone who may have forgotten about them.
