WWE approached Rob Van Dam 2 1/2 to 3 weeks ago about making a return, he did not approach them. Van Dam had agreed to work 2-3 independent dates for one promotion but after agreeing with WWE, went back and told the promoters that he could only work 1 date.

As noted, Van Dam will be working part time and will not be going on the road. His new short-term deal has him working TV shows, select live events and upcoming pay-per-view events. WWE creative reportedly has a storyline and a feud in place for him to begin at Money in the Bank.

Justin Credible Says His Parents Were Tied Up & Robbed at Gun Point by Masked Men

1

Former ECW star Justin Credible took to his Twitter earlier today to reveal that his parents were tied up and robbed at gun point by three masked men.  His account of the situation:

“This is not a joke. 3 masked guys with guns broke into my parentshouse through the kitchen window. They tied my folks up and my brother too .. They had guns pointed. At them. They checked the downstair door where me and my wife stay, but it was locked. They took some jewelry .. But they never got to us. I’ve never felt so violated and helpless. They even pointed a gun and threaten to shoot my brothers son who never .. Woke to see what happened thank god. Wow I’m blown away. So many emotions. I never thought this could happen to me .. So many cops where here, none of them did anything that was helpful .. Scary thing is they knew who the family was. Crazy who would do such a thing. Thats why I gotta be careful on who I let into my life .. Sorry guys I had to vent to somebody. I just wish I could have done something. I thought this sh#t only happened in movies.”

Extreme Rising Issues a Statement on “Management” Change; Says Shows Will Resume Soon

0

Extreme Rising issued the following statement today.  Among the bullet points are the success of previous shows, a change in “management” (which is rumored to be Shane Douglas being gone from the company, thought we can’t confirm that as of yet), and that the company is not folding & will resume shows shortly.  The statement:

Thank you for reading. At this time, Extreme Rising would like to make a statement with regards to the future of the company. We would like to start with the internet. Word to the wise is don’t believe everything you read (or hear) online whether it be from a news site, a wrestler, someone in the “industry”, or even fans. Check with the authority of whatever the subject matter before subscribing to idle chatter –whatever the claim may be. People write and say things without thinking sometimes, and act rather hastily when their emotions get the best of them, especially when they don’t get their way. Cooler heads definitely prevail. With that being said, there have been things posted and said since the cancellation of the April 2013 Wrestlemania weekend events. It was a blow to the company as we picked up momentum every event leading into December’s show. Canceling events hurt the fans, hurt the wrestlers, and yes hurt all the partners too. As much as it pained us to cancel th e events we were all looking forward to, it would have been more devastating to run said events that would’ve damaged things beyond repair. A very tough decision was made and we are still reorganizing from it. Most people would’ve have taken the easy way out after such a decision was made by quitting and shutting down. We’ve all seen that time and time again in life -not just pro wrestling. We have picked ourselves up in the past and are in the process of doing the same again. We are resilient and persistent. We’ve been doubted in the past (and will be again), but it does not stop this burning desire to move this company forward in 2013, despite any setbacks. With that being said, EXTREME RISING has always been alive and is moving forward.

It’s easy for anyone to sit there and quarterback what Extreme Rising or any other wrestling company should do. Actually, doing is much harder than you may think. If it wasn’t hard, there would be more wrestling companies started and running events. If we were to listen to anyone but ourselves, we would’ve never started Extreme Reunion and kept going with Extreme Rising with the various levels of outside negativity. We took the shot… calculated risks… chances… Some panned out, some didn’t, but we are still here working at it -and for whatever reason you are here reading this, we thank you. The one thing we know is that we put ourselves out there and continue to try. That is more than most will ever do unfortunately. People are afraid of failing so they never try. Dreaming and wishing for something is one thing -”doing” is something completely different. Most will never know the feeling of even trying, and that is real shame.

There will never be a perfectly run wrestling organization because every fan, every wrestler, every critic wants or thinks something differently. That being said people will come, and people will go. Extreme Rising strives to be a true alternative for wrestling fans, as we bring you the men who became extreme legends, with the future stars that will follow on their own path to greatness –the level of their success all depends on their dedication to the business. We aim to deliver a product that no one else is presently offering, one where fans interact with the action and where anything can happen at any moment. What started as Extreme Reunion in 2012 shook the foundation of the wrestling world as the event received an overwhelming response. Issues arose from that event, and a reunion turned to an Extreme Rising immediately as problem areas were taken to task, and resolved. With the fans support, Extreme Rising hosted four more live events averaging 1,000 plus fans per show. Extreme Rising made headlines on wrestling websites covering the successes of each event. Think about what all of us together from the staff, to the fans created and help grow. As easy as it would be to walk away, we didn’t. We didn’t quit on you, so please don’t quit on us. Be apart of something special as Extreme Rising forges forward.

To say the last few months have not been challenging is an understatement. We have taken time to work on correcting things that needed attention, and are still working on some areas as of this writing. We have made changes in management and reformed the overall general philosophy of Extreme Rising moving forward. We are still working on getting back on track, but we are also planning for the future of 2013 which is exciting and look forward to sharing with you in the future. We hope you understand that we put our hearts and souls into Extreme Rising. We really are trying to make this work. We make mistakes. We are human, just like you reading this. We are taking one day at a time to make ourselves better to operate more efficiently. We are regrouping. We are reorganizing. We are redirecting our energies positively hereby removing the negativity (whatever and whoever that may be) and are looking forward to our next announcements.

It doesn’t matter what we announce our next moves will be…

Actions will speak louder…

And when our actions are executed and play out in front of the eyes of the world, we hope you will back us for the next chapter of Extreme Rising.

This is a film about culture and human beings-who just happen to use tables and chairs and violent acts as part of their performance art. This documentary is not owned or supported by the WWE.

Former ECW Star New Jack on NBA Player Jason Collins Being Gay: “This F*ggot Picked Booty Over Cootie”

0

EDIT: New Jack has since deleted his remarks, but you can see a screen shot below.

Outspoken former ECW star New Jack is a man who isn’t afraid to speak his mind and not give a single care what anyone thinks about him.  For example, remember the night Jerry “The King” Lawler had his heart attack on RAW & New Jack tweeted that Lawler was a “racist” and that he wanted him to “die slow”?  Well, this one is sure to ruffle quite a few more feather.  New Jack has taken to his Facebook account to comment on NBA star Jason Collins recently revealing that he is gay.  Here are the unedited (and, like everything from New Jack, full of profanity) comments:

“Big ups to Jason Collins, the nba player who just went public and said that he is a faggot. This nigga picked booty over cootie. All of the fine ass women thats on the fucking planet, this nigga would rather have another niggas hairy balls resting on his forehead.Fuck gay rights and you dick suckers, teabaggers and carpet munchers who support that nasty shit…IT AIN’T RIGHT! READ UR BIBLE MUTHAFUCKAS…THAT SHIT JUST AIN’T RIGHT.Next there will be a confessed faggotS in the nfl, hoCkY, golf, racecar driving, water polo…YOU GET MY FUCKING POINT! NEXT, THIS FUCKING QUEER WILL WANNA PLAY WBA.NEWSFLASH,MEN ARE NOT SUPPOSE TO FIND OTHER MEN ATTRACTIVE YOU BUNCH OF CONFUSED MUTHAFUCKAS.CLIT NOT DI@K…WTFSMFH!!!!!!!”

In the second comment on the post, New Jack, worried that some just might take offense to his words, posted the following:

“If I have offended anyone…GO DIE!”

He then added:

“Excuse me while I have a shot of vodka, cut my fucking wrist and dive in the fucking ocean…fuckn reacharounder”

Here is a screen shot of the comments:

Paul Heyman Talks What He’d Do Different If He Ran WWE, What He Saw in CM Punk, & Much More

0

Brian Soscia recently interviewed Paul Heyman. Here are some highlights.

If Paul Heyman ran WWE, what would he do differently: “I’d fire the McMahons immediately.”

What was it he first saw in CM Punk: “How could you look at CM Punk and not think that he has the it factor? I don’t think I’m any great visionary or genius because I saw something in CM Punk, I think everyone else is a stupid schmuck for not seeing it in CM Punk. They’re blind. I mean truly, in the land of the blind the one eyed man is king and if you can’t spot that CM Punk is magic from the moment he walks in the door then you’re reading a playbook from an antiquated writer.”

His first wrestling memory: “As a fan my first memory was Argentina Apollo and Luis Martinez against the Love Brothers in Eddie Einhorn’s IWA in 1975.”

What drew him into wrestling: “The very next week [following the Apollo and Martinez vs. Love Brothers match] they were replaced on television by Vince McMahon’s father’s television show and I saw Superstar Billy Graham do one interview and I was blown away by it. I realized that that man does not work for a living. I said I don’t want to work for a living either. I want to talk s*** on TV like Superstar Billy Graham. That’s what I get to do for a living now.”

Where he gained his promo ability from: “My father was a personal injury attorney in the Bronx. I can bulls*** with the best of them.”

Who or what his greatest ECW creation was: “The ECW audience itself. The audience was the biggest star. We played to them and for a reason. They were the greatest performers we had. I mean, who else would have thought about actually chanting the name of the promotion? We didn’t come up with that. They did. Who else thought of then screaming out the name of the company and literally fighting our battles for us? We didn’t ask them to do it. They volunteered to. We didn’t get on pay per view on our own merits. We got on pay per view because the audience got us on. The greatest creation of ECW was the ECW audience.”

ECW Original New Jack Calls Out “Drunk, Dream Chasing, Non-Booking” Shane Douglas For Canceled Extreme Rising Shows

0

He might be retiring soon, but ECW original New Jack is still the same ol’ outspoken New Jack.

New Jack wasn’t scheduled for any of the Extreme Rising shows that were canceled next weekend, but he’s letting the world know what he thinks of Shane Douglas on his Facebook page.  Just a few months after he claimed that Shane Douglas offered him double the money to skip a rival companies show (a claim Douglas denies), New Jack is calling Douglas out for allowing the Extreme Rising shows to be canceled and drops a bombshell over a Hurricane Katrina benefit show that he says never actually donated any money to those affected.

He posted:

“A BIG R.I.P.TO SHANE DOUGLES AND THAT EXTREME FALLEN,PILLED UP,DRUNK,DREAM CHASING NON BOOKING,LESSER THAN BACKYARD BULLSHIT.I TOLD YOU YA COCKSUCKER THAT I FILLED THE KARMA TRAIN WITH ENOUGH FUEL TO CIRCLE AROUND YOUR BITCHASS TWICE.THIS IS MAINLY FOR THE KATRINA HURRICANE VICTIMS YOU FUCKED ON THAT SHOW YOU RAN IN PITTSBURGH YEARS AGO AND YOU COLLECTED MONEY FOR THEM AND YOU EVEN HAD PEOPLE TO DRESS UP LIKE RED CROSS EMPLOYEES AND YOU POCKETED THE MONEY.GOD IS NOT THRU WITH YOUMY FRIEND.HOLD UR BREATH UNTIL YOUR HEAD EXPLODES YOU FUCKING PAUL E.WANNA BE.LOVE ALWAYS NEWJACK YOU FUCKING WASTE OF SPACE!!!”

In a follow-up, he posted:

“Hey Shane Douglas, here is a new job for your momna, tell the bitch they have a position for her down at the carwash, she car gargle tireshine and lick tired. You should have never tried to pull that shit on me and I pray to God that you get pissed enough at me to run up on me to express yourself…Please,YOU FUCKING THIEF!!!”

He continued in a separate post:

“Shane Douglas, when you canceled those 3 shows, did u realize how many of the boys was counting on that money to pay rent, feed their babys, pay bills..etc?You’re a selfish, non talented, lying cocksucking thief. You slammed Dixie Carter because she wouldn’t hire your troublesome bitchass and you talked shit about Vince because he comepared you to a herpe lip sore.I told you ya fuck that your bullshit exreme fallen wouldn’t make it to the end of the year.I was the ONLY ETREME ORIGINAL who lived up to my name with or without my music.I’m in Hollywood you fucking clown. You will answer to a higher power for the dirt that you did and for the babys you let go hungry.May God Have Mercy On Your Soul!!!”

Report: Asylum “ECW” Arena May Not Be Holding Wrestling Events After All; Concert Venue Listed as New Owners

0

According to a report by Philly.com, the Asylum “ECW” Arena in Philadelphia that is currently going through a renovation may not be housing wrestling shows once again like many people thought.

According to the report, the liquor license recently assigned and posted at the iconic arena lists The Trocadero, a popular Chinatown concert venue near center city Philadelphia, as the owner of the facility.  Nobody tied to the Trocadero will comment publicly whether or not the future of the Asylum Arena is meant more for bands like Five Finger Death Punch as opposed to actual punches.

This would seem to confirm a December 2011 report that the future for the building was that of a concert/theater facility.  Mid-way through 2012, however, whispers started to come out that the building would indeed start housing wrestling shows once again.

We’ll post more info as we receive it.
