ROH wrap up results from the weekend

Ring of Honor headed south this past weekend with live events in Richmond, VA and Charlotte, NC.

Results from Richmond on Friday night saw:
-New World Champion Davey Richards opened the show. Richards spoke about winning the title and ROH going forward. He called out Eddie Edwards but instead, Roderick Strong and Truth Martini came out. Both men went back and forth on the mic until Michael Elgin came out. The House of Truth tried to corner Richards however Eddie Edwards came out to help his tag team partner.

1. ROH Contenders Tag Team Lottery Tournament Match: Adam Cole and Kyle O’Relly beat Caprice Coleman and Cedric Alexander.
2. ROH Contenders Tag Team Lottery Tournament Match: The Bravado Brothers beat Jay & Mark Briscoe after Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team distracted The Briscoes leading to the pinfall.
3. “The Prodigy” Mike Bennett vs. Kenny King originally ended with Bennett scoring the pinfall using a handful of tights. King’s ANX tag partner Rhett Titus came out and told the ref what happened and the decision was reversed. At that point Bennett jumped Titus and Jim Cornette announced that Bennett would have to come back later in the night and wrestler Rhett in a singles match.
4. World Tag Team Title Match: Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team defeated World TV Champion El Generico and Colt Cabana to retain.
5. ROH Contenders Tag Team Lottery Tournament Finals: Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly defeated The Bravado Brothers to win a $5,000 bonus and a future shot at the World Tag Team Titles.
6. Rhett Titus pinned “The Prodigy” Mike Bennett
7. The American Wolves (World Champion Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards) defeated Roderick Strong and Michael Elgin in a great match.

Results from Saturday night in Charlotte, NC saw:
1. “The Prodigy” Mike Bennett beat Andy “Right Leg” Ridge
2. Grudge Match: Kenny King pinned Mark Briscoe in a match with each man’s respective partner handcuffed to the post at ringside. This led into:
3. Grudge Match: Rhett Titus vs. Jay Briscoe was ruled a No Contest. For this match Mark and Kenny King were handcuffed to the ringside post however Jay broke Mark free and The Briscoes beat on the ANX until Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas made the save.
4. The American Wolves (ROH World Champion Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards) defeated Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly by TKO as the ref stopped that match. Edwards had the Achilles lock cinched in, stomping on O’Reilly’s head at the finish. The timekeeper failed to ring the bell, so Eddie continued until Referee Todd Sinclair forced the stop. Davey and Eddie argued after the match regarding the finish and Eddie left while Richards and Cole helped O’Reilly to the back. A tremendous tag team encounter.
5. Caprice Coleman and Cedric Alexander beat Michael Elgin and Chase Owens.
6. Chris Hero beat Colt Cabana
7. Non Title Match: Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team beat The Bravado Brothers. After the match Jay and Mark Briscoe came out and challenged the champs to a match. Both teams brawled. Eventually The Briscoes put Charlie Haas through a table and Kenny King came out with a chair to make the save for the champs.
9. Steel Cage Match: El Generico defeated Roderick Strong
