WWE’s website has posted footage from Jerry Lawler’s live crowd appearance at Tuesday’s SmackDown tapings. Lawler came to the stage and received a standing ovation from the fans. Michael Cole handled the brief interview and welcomed Lawler home. Lawler talked about how lucky he is to be back in front of the fans again.
Lawler thanked Cole for being the first guy that “got the whole process started on saving my life.” Lawler also thanked WWE’s Dr. Sampson, saying if it weren’t for Sampson’s efforts in Montreal then he wouldn’t be standing there. Sampson was shown standing in the crowd. Lawler added that he feels fully recovered, besides the still scratchy voice, and is looking forward to returning to RAW.
