The following are some highlights of Jim Ross’s latest blog:
Paul Heyman’s return: “Paul Heyman’s return is one of the more positive things to occur in WWE in a good while. As I have said over the years, Heyman’s TV persona is an easy one to dislike. We’ve had some classic on air disputes but none compare to some of the one’s that we have had off the air especially when we were teaming in Atlanta while working for WCW.
“What makes Heyman so effective is that he doesn’t play the ‘role’ of a villain who has litigious tendencies. Plus, Heyman is a life long fan who now has the chance to essentially reinvent himself with this unexpected return to the genre. It will likely be his last return to the business if I had to make a wager.”
“I thought Heyman’s interaction with HHH Monday night was the highlight of the broadcast while it kicked off the show as nothing really could follow that compelling first segment of the night.”
Potential Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar match:“Lesnar will get what he has coming to him was a great line by The Game. It could mean many things including a possible match between HHH and Lesnar if we fans are lucky. Time will tell on that but this particular issue has my interest and, more importantly, has me thinking of all the potential ‘moments’ that the HHH/Heyman/Lesnar issue might provide.”

On the way back from promoting WWE in Japan this past weekend, Alberto Del Rio stopped in China to take part in a press conference announcing the SmackDown brand’s return to The Oriental Sports Center in Shanghai on August 11th. WWE will be running Tokyo, Japan on August 9th and 10th. Reports coming out of China suggest that WWE is considering doing regular tours of China.
We received some incorrect information regarding the dark main events at last night’s SmackDown tapings in Hershey, PA. There was no CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho dark match and there was no John Cena, Randy Orton and Sheamus vs. Kane, Dolph Ziggler and Lord Tensai matches before the tapings began.
The dark main event after the tapings ended saw Sheamus defeat Daniel Bryan in a non-title match.
Ted DiBiase, Jr. and his wife welcomed a new child into their family. His wife gave birth to a 6.9 lbs baby boy Tuesday afternoon which the couple named, Tate McKinley DiBiase.
DiBiase who is currently off WWE television and live events due to injuries tweeted the following on Tuesday, “Tate McKinley DiBiase was born a healthy boy today at 4:17 p.m., weighing 6.9 lbs! Thank you Lord. May Tate bless your name! Psalm 127:3.”
“Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase revealed on Twitter he was also in attendance for the birth.
The following matches were taped for this week’s WWE Smackdown:
* WWE Tag Champions R-Truth and Kofi Kingston vs. Titus O’Neil and Darren Young
* Daniel Bryan vs. Zack Ryder
* WWE Champion CM Punk vs. Kane
Champion vs. Champion Match
* Cody Rhodes vs. Santino Marella
* Randy Orton vs. World Hvt. Champion Sheamus
* Attendance looks low but there is a lot of Daniel Bryan chants. Heat for Michael Cole as he comes out with Booker T to the announcers table.
* John Laurinaitis opens the show and talks about facing John Cena at Over the Limit. Laurinaitis wants sympathy and wants the fans to pray for him.
Punk comes out and is glad that Laurinaitis will finally be terminated after John Cena beats him on Sunday. Punk wishes Laurinaitis the best in his future endeavors to a big pop from the crowd. Punk goes on ripping Laurinaitis until he’s had enough. Laurinaitis tells everyone to go to hell and announces Punk vs. Kane for tonight.
* Sandow comes out as Yoshi Tatsu waits in the ring. Sandow cuts a promo and doesn’t think Tatsu is worthy of wrestling him tonight. Yoshi taunts Sandow and calls him a chicken. Sandow lays Tatsu out with a modified neckbreaker and leaves.
* A Big Show video airs.
* Backstage segment with Sheamus and Randy Orton hyping up the four-way title match at Over the Limit.
* Daniel Bryan beat Zack Ryder with the Yes Lock.
* Kane beat CM Punk by DQ with Danial Bryan staying out for commentary. Bryan tried to interfere with a chair shot but hit Kane instead. Kane, thinking Punk hit him with the chair, laid the WWE Champion out.
* Santino Marella beat Cody Rhodes in a champion vs. champion match.
* Randy Orton defeated Sheamus with a roll-up. After the match, they shake hands, but Orton RKOs Sheamus.
Despite being “fired”, the WWE Live Events webpage lists The Big Show for WWE’s upcoming Mexican tour in two weeks and for all TV and SmackDown live events starting on June 2.
The main events for the Spain WWE RAW tour include CM Punk vs Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship and John Cena vs Lord Tensai and John Laurinaitis in a handicap match.
In an update on John Cena’s divorce, according to one person in WWE on if Cena’s divorce will go away smoothly or explode into ugliness, as it seems to be one or the other, he didn’t give a positive response. He strongly suggested that it will be getting ugly and fast.
