We see country star Montgomery Gentry and Storm’s wife looking on from ringside. Finally Roode brings Storm in the cage and the bell rings. Roode keeps control as Storm bleeds. Roode with a suplex and a knee drop to the head. Roode with another 2 count. Roode hits right hands but it doesn’t phase Storm. Storm comes back with right hands but Roode takes back control. Roode continues beating Storm bloody.

Storm makes a comeback finally and catapults Roode into the cage. Storm keeps control for the most part but Roode goes back and forth. The door is open and Roode starts to crawl out. Storm grabs his leg and pulls him. Roode turns that around and applies the crossface. They end up in the corner and Roode goes for a superplex. Storm blocks it and they fight in the corner. Roode crawls up to leave the cage but Storm tries to stop him. Storm gets knocked to the mat but crawls back up. He brings Roode back over and they fight on top of the rope. More back and forth and close calls. Storm hits the big superkick but nails the referee with it. Hebner opens the door as Roode steps to the apron. Roode tells Hebner to give him a beer bottle and he does.

Roode smashes Storm with the bottle but Storm still kicks out at 2. Storm finally connects with the super kick but it doesn’t do the job. Storm hits another super kick but it knocks Roode out of the cage door and to the floor to end the match.

Winner: Bobby Roode

- Lockdown goes off the air with Storm in the ring looking disappointed.

Evolve 11: Finlay vs. Callihan II results – 4/13/12

0

Already some news for the show as Gabe Sapolsky announced his Twitter AR Fox and Scott Reed of The Scene were not going to wrestle tonight. No replacements were named but Sapolsky promised a big match for the Open the Freedom Gate Champion and promised to deliver.

WE ARE LIVE~!

Sound is terrible so far, can barely understand the ring announcer. The Super Smasher Brothers hit the ring and start cutting a promo. They want to earn a million points in EVOLVE. They’re calling out Chuck Taylor’s mystery team. Who is it?

Taylor makes his way to the ring with Drew Gulak and Jake Manning and labels themselves The Gentlemen’s Club. Here we go.

Super Smash Brothers vs. The Gentlemen’s Club

Uno and Manning start off and battle to a standstill so they tag each of their partners in. Dos and Gulak start arm locks but Dos gets the upper hand and nails him with a dropkick. A headbutt to the gut from Gulak gets him back in control and he tags in Manning. They attempt to double-team Dos but he counters and sends the new team to the outside. He tags in Uno and they set up stereo suicide dives but The Club dodge out of the way.

Back in with Uno and Manning. Mannings slaps Dos across the face and then runs away, allowing his partner to sneak in a cheap shot and they take control.

The Gentlemen’s Club doing a good job of cutting off the ring and keeping Uno from tagging his partner in. Irish whip from Gulak but Uno hangs onto the ropes and elbows his opponent. Manning jumps into the ring to attack but Uno sidesteps him and Manning spills out. Uno is just about to tag out but Manning, from the outside, pulls Dos off the apon! Nefarious!

Uno takes more punishment but then is finally able to tag out. Manning gets tagged in as well but eats a cross body splash from Dos off the top rope. A Lionsault takes Gulak out and he rolls onto the apron. Dos climbs to the top again and hits a DDT onto Gulak onto the apron!

Dos back inside the ring and he ducks under a clothesline from Manning and then kips back up. Uno with a huge right hand and Super Smash Brothers hit a double-team Backstabber for two.

The fan favorites are in control but Dos misses a top rope stomp as Manning rolls out and hits a modified STO. Nearly a three count! Lots of action right now, it’s hard to keep up!

The Gentlemen’s Club spills to the outside and Dos hops onto the ropes, pulls them apart which allows the, ahem, heftier Uno to dive to the outside!

Back inside the ring, Super Smash Brothers with dual forearm smashes and Manning slumps in the corner. Release German suplex on Gulak onto his partner! Uno sets Gulak up in a Gory Special and Dos hits a cutter from the top! Three count! Nice!

Winners: Super Smash Brothers via pinfall

Chuck Taylor is a sore loser after the match.

MK McKinnan vs. Josh Alexander

Both are making their EVOLVE debut. Some arm wrench counters to start. McKinnan nails Alexander with a hard shot in the counter and goes for a springboard move but messes up and falls to the mat. Alexander starts pounding on him.

The English McKinnan takes some punishment but delivers a hard chop and runs to the ropes. Alexander follows and nails him with shoulder to the gut and then hits a Northern Lights suplex for two. More punishment dishes out by Alexander who hits a stalling suplex for two.

They trade forearms and McKinnan pulls off a little flip counter but misses with a kick. He spins around and nails a kick to the gut. Alexander to the outside and McKinnan follows him with a rolling suicide dive. That looks nice.

Back inside and McKinnan nails his opponent with a rolling knee strike in the corner but a huge elbow but Alexander back in control. Seconds later, he hooks the Briton’s arms and nails a devastating Tiger Driver for the win.

Winner: Alexander via pinfall

Mike Rollins vs. Ashley Sixx

Rollins using his size and strength advantage early. Rollins counters an irish whip into an airplane spin and then nails Sixx with a huge right. Sixx in the corner and Rollins gets to the second turnbuckle, nailing punch after punch.

They’re on the outside and Sixx takes advantage after a Russian leg sweep into the apron. He rolls Rollins in and gets a two count. They’re trading shots but Sixx hits a big dropkick, putting Rollins on his back. Two count for Sixx.

Sixx chopping but Rollins is barely fazed and hits his own, knocking Sixx to the mat. Pin attempt, two count. Powerbomb counter for Rollins for two. Rollins spends too much time jawing with the referee and allows Sixx to recover.

The smaller wrestler sets up a top rope move and and sends Rollins crashing down with a hurricanrana. Rollins sits up with a scream. He gets kicked down. Another sit up, another scream, another kick. Rollins starts to sit up again and lets out a little yelp but stays down. Sixx off the rope and goes for a senton but Rollins sits up.

Both back on their feet, huge slap across the face from Sixx. Rollins looks pissed. Sixx steps back, nails a huge jumping knee. He bounces off the ropes but eats a huge boot. High impact move from Rollins, the Psycho Mike Driver and he picks up the win.

Alex Reynolds vs. Josh Silver

Lots of back and forth in the opening minutes. Counter after reversal after counter after reversal. It all ends with a double kip up, of course.

Reynolds with a headlock and he’s sent to the ropes but hangs on. It happens again. Reynolds tries to whip his opponent but it’s reversed and Silver slams him in the gut. Huge dropkick from Silver and he begins booting Reynolds in the corner.

Reynolds tries to turn the tide with a top rope move but Silver dodges and continues his onslaught. Huge running knee from Silver for two. Axe handles to Reynolds on the mat but one misses and Reynolds is able to take control. Huge elbow in the corner is followed up by an even bigger running knee which has Silver reeling.

Silver is draped across the middle rope and Reynolds goes to the outside and nails him with a huge dropkick. Another knee back inside the ring gets Reynolds a two count. Silver begins to strike back but a kick is caught and countered into a backbreaker/inverse lariat maneuver for two.

Modified chin lock from Reynolds but Silver flips his opponent onto the mat. Reynolds continues the attack but a whip reversal turns Silver back in control. A huge lariat and kick get Silver a two count. Chinbreaker from Reynolds and they start trading forearm shots.

Silver flips out of a German suplex and nails Reynolds with a double knee stomp on the chest for two. Silver is able to nearly slap on a crossface of sorts but his opponent rolls out. Silver slaps it on again and Reynolds is forced to grab the ropes. Silver to the top but is thrown off. He rolls through but Reynolds nails him with a huge move for two.

Reynolds to the top but misses huge on a moonsault. Silver nails a boot the head in the corner and then tosses his opponent into the opposite corner. Wheelbarrow German suplex for two! Superkick from Silver is caught but he nails an enziguri. Silver wastes too much time and Reynolds is able to hit a big elbow and then tosses Silver neck-first onto the top rope. Backbreaker seals the deal. Pretty good match.

Winner by pinfall: Reynolds via pinfall

Reynolds cuts a short promo after the match.

Samuray Del Sol vs. Chuck Taylor

Before the match gets started, Johnny Gargano hits the ring and grabs a mic. He’s pretty raw over Taylor’s betrayal in Miami. Says he stuck up for Taylor when DGUSA officials thought he sucked and his physique was terrible. Says he stuck up for Taylor when the boys in the back said Taylor was selfish and only wanted to put himself over.

Gargano offers to make the match a three-way dance! It’s on!

Sumuray Del Sol vs. Chuck Taylor vs. Johnny Gargano

Well, I guess this is par for the course as far as Sapolsky’s big surprises go. Decent match but … you know. Anyway, Gargano immediately goes after Taylor who dives outside. Del Sol gets a quick two on Gargano. The DGUSA champion quickly gets control, hits an STO onto the turnbuckle. Gargano goes after Taylor again but gets hit as he tries to roll back in.

Del Sol uses the opportunity to deliver some punishment to Taylor. Some really nice work from the EVOLVE debutee. He sends Taylor to the outside but gets speared by Gargano who then dives to the outside onto his former partner.

Fast-paced action from all three men and it ends up being Del Sol and Taylor in the ring. The newcomer flips out of a maneuver from Taylor, ducks a clotheslines from Gargano and then is thrown by the DGUSA champ into Taylor, nailing him with a dropkick.

Taylor recovers and sends Gargano to the corner. Del Sol attempts a hurricanrana but Gargano hangs on and powerbombs the masked wrestler onto Gargano. Del Sol is sent to the outside but headstands on the apron and manages to get to on Taylor’s shoulders. Hurricanrana! Taylor rolls to the outside and twisting splash from Del Sol! Gargano looks to dive himself but he eats a kick from Del Sol.

Back inside, Gargano is able to counter a Del Sol move into a slam and looks to set up the finish but Taylor tosses his former partner to the outside and gets the pin himself! Del Sol is eliminated!

Now down to Taylor and Gargano, they begin brawling around the ringside area. Gargano is taking it to Taylor but “The Kentucky Gentleman” nails Gargano with a belly to back suplex onto the apron. Remember, the DGUSA champion is coming off a back injury he suffered at the last EVOLVE show. Taylor, of course, begins attacking the spinal cord before eventually slapping on a body scissors submission.

Hold released and Taylor is just stomping the hell out of Gargano’s back. Bodyslam from the rulebreaker. Another. Taylor slaps on a chinlock while also digging his knee into his opponent’s back. Gargano starts to fight back but eats a knee. He’s still not out! He hits a rolling kick and sends Taylor to the outside and lands a plancha. Rolling senton from the apron onto Taylor before rolling him back inside the ring. Springboard from the apron into a knee in the corner.

Gargano off the ropes but gets booted in the gut. Taylor goes for a move but his opponent counters into a powerbomb and nearly slaps on a submission. Taylor makes it to the ropes and then starts to make his way backstage. Gargano catches up, attacks and sends his opponent back inside the ring. He attempts to go for the same spear through the ropes he nailed on Del Sol earlier into the match but Taylor catches him in the Randy Orton draped DDT position. He flips Gargano over and hits a backbreaker.

Moonsault misses from Taylor and Gargano nails a dropkick in the corner. Lawn dart into the second turnbuckle and then a superkicks gets two.

They start trading counters back and forth before Gargano is able to slap on a hold but Taylor is able to roll through and slaps on a Boston crab. Eventually the champion grabs the bottom rope, breaking the hold. Taylor slapping Gargano on the mat and is met with spit. The champion can barely stand but he’s trading forearms with his former partner.

Taylor bounces off the ropes, gets nailed with a superkick! Gargano off the ropes, HE gets hit with a superkick! Another big boot from Taylor stops a roaring elbow but Gargano eats it and nails the move anyway! They’re both down!

Back on their feet, Taylor counters a Hurts Donut and slaps on a half crab! Gargano nearly reaches the ropes but is dragged back to the center. “Please don’t tap” chant starts but Gargano is fading. Arm is raised once, it falls. Twice, it falls. The third time… GARGANO IS OUT! Okay, that match was really good. Still miss seeing AR Fox, though.

Winner: Taylor via technical submission by way of half Boston Crab

Post-match, Taylor says, “The Gentlemen’s Club loves to win… YES WE DO!”

INTERMISSION~!

We’re back, folks.

Adam Page vs. Caleb Konley w/ Larry Dallas

Page with the early advantage. Hits some armdrags and Konley mockingly claps. Konley slides out of the ring and Page gives chase. Back inside, Konley tries to take advantage of the situation but Page maintains control. Konley gets dumped to the outside and Page hits a shooting star press off the apron onto his opponent!

Back inside and Page goes to the top. He misses the splash but lands on his feet. He rushes Konley but gets armdragged into the corner. Konley takes over. Huge backbreaker gets a two count for The Scene tag team member. A couple of near falls follow.

Page starts to build some momentum but goes high risk and ends up getting racked on the top turnbuckle. Konley climbs up, latches onto his opponent and hits a superplex for two. Konley lifts Page up but the EVOLVE newcomer flips out and nearly sneaks a pin in. The tide begins to turn as Page hits a powerslam for two.

Elbows from Page until one is blocked. Konley sweeps the leg, Johnny and follows it up with a diving clotheslines. A senton gets a two count for the tag team specialist. Page is able to regain the advantage and gets a firearm’s carry into a neckbreaker for two. Page sets up a piledriver but Konley spins out and hits a HUGE left hand before slamming him down. Konley slaps on the O Face, a modified Liontamer-type submission which forces Page to tap.

Winner: Konley via submission by way of O Face

It’s co-main event time!

El Generico vs. Low Ki

Um, where the heck is The Bouncing Souls? Low Ki gets his own entrance music. Lame.

They lock up. Low Ki with a wrist lock until Generico makes it to the corner. Low Ki feints a strike. They lock up again, Generico with a front headlock. Low Ki also makes it to the corner for the break. Generico also feints a strike but Low Ki doesn’t flinch. HUGE chop from Generico. Awesome.

Low Ki gets a headlock. Generico gets to the ropes and Low Ki breaks the hold before nailing his opponent with an ever bigger chop. Low Ki in control, latching on a chinlock onto his masked opponent. Generico is able to turn around and shove Low Ki into the corner to break the hold and the Generic Luchador gives his opponent a shove.

The former ROH champion gets his opponent to the mat and begins paintbrushing the back of his head. They scramble and Generico gets to his feet. Low Ki offers to allow Generico back to the mat. Okay, I get the whole MMA Lite argument. This is straight out of an MMA fight and sort of lame in a pro wrestling setting. Come on, guys, WRESTLE.

Generico follows Low Ki down and nearly gets caught in a submission but escapes. They’re back on their feet and Low Ki is sent to the ropes. Generico bounces off the ropes, tries to hit a springboard splash but misses. He gets to his feet and flattens Low Ki with a leg lariat. They’re both on their feet, trading chops until Low Ki hits a brainbuster for two.

Inverse triangle choke from Low Ki until Generico gets to the ropes. Huge chop from Low Ki and Generico answers back with a kick. The former Senshi hits an even bigger kick and sends Generico to the outside. Low Ki follows and hits another big kick. Generico tries to get some breathing room but Low Ki is in hot pursuit. Generico’s head is slammed onto the apron and he’s rolled in for a two count.

Bodylock from “The World Warrior.” Generico once again breaks the hold thanks to the ropes. They’re trading nasty freakin’ chops again. Good gravy, their chests are going to be red tomorrow. Generico with an elbow. Low Ki answers back with a mule kick. He rears back for a running elbow but Generico pulls the top rope down and the former Kaval spills to the outside! Plancha from the masked warrior!

He rolls Low Ki back in, climbs to the top rope and hits a cross body splash for two. Low Ki tries to fight back with some elbow but he misses a kick and eats a Blue Thunder powerbomb for two. The crowd is firmly behind their countryman. He sets up Low Ki for the Yazkua kick in the corner but Low Ki sticks his boot up just in time! He bounces off the ropes and Generico tries to scoop him up but the former ROH champ slaps on a choke submission. Generico powers through and grabs the ropes.

Low Ki immediately jumps on Generico’s back again and tries to slap on the hold for a second time but Generico fights it off and counters into a Falcon Arrow for a 2.999!

Generico misses the corner Yazkua Kick and is holding his knee. Low Ki on his feet and delivers a big kick to his opponent’s chest. Another kick and Generico can barely answer back with a chop. A third kick drops the Generic Luchador to his knees. A fourth kick and a pin! 1… 2… KICK OUT!

Low Ki sets up his running double knee in the corner and Generico dodges and Low Ki misses badly! Corner Yakuza kick! He gets Low Ki up for a top rope brainbustaaaaa! NO! His knee gives out! They both spill to the mat and Low Ki climbs back up and HOLY MOTHER OF GOD HITS A DOUBLE STOMP ONTO GENERICO’S BACK AS HE’S DOUBLED OVER!

Winner: Low Ki via pinfall

Low Ki gets on the mic after the match. “You know, Generico… you’re not really as good as you think you are.” Ouch.

Sami Callihan vs. Fit Finlay

Callihan shoving Finlay to start. Finlay bullies his opponent into the corner but they can’t stop shoving each other. They’re basically brawling and holy crap, FINLAY BURIED A HEADBUTT INTO CALLIHAN’S SKULL!

The last wrestler standing in the ECW Arena is a bloody mess as Finlay begins to brutalize him. They’re on the outside and Finlay is laying it on thick. Back inside the ring, it’s more of the same. Finlay makes his way back outside and drapes Callihan from the inside out and slams his head on the apron.

Callihan tries to answer back with a chop but it just seems to piss the “Belfast Bruiser” off. He picks Callihan up and slams his back into the ringpost. Finlay rolls in to break the count and Callihan tries to mount a comeback but it’s quickly squashed. Finlay putting an old school beating on his opponent, laying in thick chops in the corner. He drops the youngster down and begins twisting his knee until Callihan counters with a sleeper hold. They’re battling back and forth on the mat. Callihan winds up on top of Finlay’s back and starts delivering vicious forearms to the side of his opponent’s head.

“The New Horror” almost gets in the driver’s seat but Finlay reverses a wristlock and sends his opponent crashing into the turnbuckles. Some elbows and punches to the back of Finlay’s head finally do put Callihan in control. Devastating knee submission is made worse when Callihan slams into the mat. He follows it up with a half Boston crab. Finlay fights it off and they’re back to their feet. A huge elbow from the Irishman drops Callihan to the mat. An chest-first irish whip to the turnbuckle does the same. And then another.

Finlay whips Callihan to the corner again and charges in but misses. A kick to the skull gets a two count for the “Callihan Death Machine.” Finlay out on the apron and Callihan bounces off the turnbuckle, hitting a lariat which drops his opponent onto the floor. Suicide dive from Callihan! The veteran gets back inside the ring as his opponent begins to climb to the top rope. Finlay gets to his feet and shoves Callihan off and he pancakes on the hard floor.

Finlay follows him out and delivers a boot before sending him back inside the ring. Bodyslam from Finlay and he sets it up so the back of Callihan’s knee catches the rope. And he does it again! Finlay working over the knee really hard now. He slams it against the ringpost and then slaps on a modified half Boston crab. Finlay puts his damn foot on the back of his opponent’s head! Callihan nearly passes out but doesn’t allow his arm to fall on the third raise. He grabs the ropes and the hold is broken.

Callihan is set up on the top rope and eats a headbutt. The Irishman looking to hit a superplex but Callihan floats over and goes for a powerbomb. Finlay hangs on and lands some punches but “The New Horror” slips out and hits a superkick to Finlay’s hamstring! The veteran collapses in a heap and Callihan looks to attack the leg some more. Finlay straight muscles his opponent off and he spills onto the ring announcer’s table. Finlay hits the Celtic Cross and there’s a kick out at one! A second Celtic Cross! No pin! A THIRD! KICK OUT AT TWO!

Finlay sets up a Tombstone piledriver but Callihan wiggles out. Lariat from the veteran and then hits the Tombstone for a two count. Finlay looks to set up another piledriver but Callihan floats over and bounces off the ropes, delivering a vicious Yazuka kick to his opponent’s ribs. Both back to their feet, Finlay answers back with a boot. They both take a step back, DOUBLE YAKUZA KICKS!

Both men begin to stir and finally get to their feet. DOUBLE YAKUZA KICK AGAIN! Both men are nearly dead on the mat. They answer the count… DOUBLE YAKUZA KICK FOR A THIRD TIME!

They begin kicking each other before they even get to their feet and Callihan tries to slap on the Stretch Muffler to further aggravate Finlay’s ailing hamstring. Finlay answers back with boots to the head, Callihan tries again but Finlay counters into an armbar!. Callihan desperately tries to get to the ropes but he can’t make it! He taps!

Winner: Finlay via submission by way of cross armbreaker

Finlay tells Callihan to stop worrying about all his feuds and to focus and concentrate on his wrestling abilities. He says Callihan has what it takes and is tough. He tells him to get to feet. Callihan does but doesn’t respond to what Finlay had to say.

AND THAT’S ALL FOLKS!

Pretty good show, I can definitely think of worse ways to spend $15 and a few hours on a Friday night. Besides, the night is still young!

TNA Impact Wrestling results – 4/12/12

0

We look back at last week as Hulk Hogan laid down the law and reversed the decision in the main event on Bobby Roode, then set up the Lethal Lockdown to decide which Bischoff gets to stay in TNA. After that, we’re off to the Impact Zone as Easy E opens the show, makes fun of some fat broad in the audience, then gets down to business and says that Hogan and Garett think they have him cornered, but what they don’t understand is that the name Eric Bischoff will live on long after we’re all dead and gone. He’s going to be a legacy in the business, and refers to last week when Hogan questioned his ability to lead. He put together a badass team for Lockdown, and introduces them now: Bully Ray, Gunner, Frankie Kazarian, and Christopher Daniels. Bully Ray says he is proud to stand next to Bischoff and go to war for him, but as great of a man as Bischoff is, he made one mistake: his bastard son Garett Bischoff. Eric says he knows Bubba is going to take care of that at Lockdown and reminds us of the stakes this weekend. We’ve got a best of three series tonight to determind who will have the advantage at Lethal Lockdown, and that Gunner will lead the charge and take on anyone Garett throws at him.

Garett Bischoff comes out and says Eric and his team are obviously ready to go, but he’s got his team all lined up and ready to come out and get their hands on Eric’s team. In fact, one of them is ready to go right here and right now, so let’s kick this off right off the bat. Ken Anderson’s music hits, and he comes out to kick off tonight’s show!

Gunner vs Ken Anderson

Gunner jumps Anderson before he gets a chance to take his shirt off, and Anderson gets some offense in, but Gunner goes to the eyes and Anderson is back in trouble. Anderson tries to roll outside to get some breathing room, but Gunner continues the assault and tries to slam Anderson on the floor, but Anderson slips out the back and rams Gunner into the ringpost. Anderson unloads with right hands and rams Gunner into the barricade, then rolls him back inside and takes him out with a back elbow. Gunner escapes a Finlay Roll and rolls Anderson up with a handful of tights, but Anderson is out at 2 and takes Gunner out with a clothesline and a chain of elbowdrops. Anderson looks REALLY REALLY MAD as he stomps right on Gunner’s bladder, no doubt ruining his plans for the evening, but Gunner goes back to the eyes again and takes Anderson out with a clothesline, then blatantly chokes him right in front of the referee. Gunner smashes Anderson face first into the top turnbuckle and goes all Jesse Ventura by raking his boot laces across the eyes. Gunner with another rollup with the tights, but Anderson again kicks out at 2, officially making Gunner the worst illegal tights user of all time. Anderson sends Gunner shoulder first into the post and then stomps a mudhole in him in the corner before choking him out with his boot until the referee calls for the disqualification.

Winner: Gunner by DQ

Anderson isn’t done, and continues stomping Gunner’s chest in before walking off.

Eric Young is backstage admiring himself in the mirror when Joseph Park walks in to tell EY how snazzy he looks and asks if he’s thought about a prenup. He asks EY if he’s heard anything about his brother Chris because he’s been here for the better part of a decade, and to think about where he last saw him. EY says last time he saw him, he was mixed up with that Immortal group, so Joseph hands him his card and thanks him again.

We go out to the ring with the Motor City Machine Guns, and Chris Sabin says that injury after injury has plagued the MCMGs, but no more, then hands the microphone to Alex Shelley, who says that the MCMGs have been teaming for over six years, while Samoa Joe and Magnus have been teaming for six months. Shelley says Morgan and Crimson rub baby oil on each other, while the MCMGs beat Beer Money, they retired Team 3D, and this Sunday, they’re not wrestling Curry Man and Shark Boy, they’re wrestling one of the greatest teams ever, and they’re going to be the new TNA World Tag Team Champions. Samoa Joe and Brutus Magnus come out to the ring to put the MCMGs over as one of the most impressive teams of all time, and Magnus says Sabin has his respect for coming back from injury, but it’s not about who the best team ever is, it’s about who is the best team right now. At Lockdown, the two best teams on the planet go at it to see who is the best of the best and who deserves to be the champions. Magnus says they look ready, and he and Joe are always ready, so if they don’t want to wait, they can go right now. Wait a minute, Mexican America’s music hits and they come out to crash the party. Anarquia says they were champions for six months and if they want to be left out of the picture, they have one thing to say. Well, they don’t really say anything, they attack both teams and get their asses kicked. Having gotten their workout for the evening, the MCMGs and Joe & Magnus stare one another down, and we’re at commercial.

Christopher Daniels vs X Division Champion Austin Aries

They tie up and Daniels goes to the arm, Aries goes to the ropes, cartwheels past Daniels, and boxes the ears. Daniels takes Aries to the corner by the hair and shoulderblocks his abdomen, Aries shoots Daniels to the ropes and now Daniels cartwheels past Aries and jabs him in the face. Aries gets a side headlock, Daniels headscissors his way out, but clearly has never seen an Austin Aries match before because he eats the kickout dropkick square in the grill. Crowd is solidly behind Aries as he goes to the top rope, but Daniels comes along and shakes the ropes, crotching Aries, and then a short jab sends Aries tumbling to the ring apron. Daniels fires Aries hard into the corner and snaps Aries over with a vertical suplex for 2. Daniels with a Cobra Clutch and snaps Aries backward over his knee, Aries knees Daniels in the head until he breaks the hold, but Daniels tosses Aries out to the floor. Daniels goes for an Arabian moonsault to the floor, Aries dodges and Daniels sees him move and lands on his feet, but Aries quickly pops into the ring and hits the heat seeking missile to the floor. They go back inside where Aries wipes Daniels out with a roaring elbow and teases the pendulum elbow, but instead goes for a handspring elbowdrop that gets 2. Aries gets a sunset flip out of the corner, Daniels gets out and tries rolling Aries up with the tights, but the referee catches him and Aries reverses to a rollup of his own, but also has the tights and the referee won’t count that either. Daniels with a uranage and goes for the BME, but Aries moves and hits a missile dropkick, followed by the IED in the corner and then the brainbuster for the win.

Winner: Austin Aries

Awesome match! This may have been the best match on Impact in months, and now the best of three series is tied up at one apiece.

We’re back and the steel cage is being built for the wedding, but first, Jeff Hardy comes out to the ring to tell us that the thing with Angle started when Angle cost him the World Title, and it’s going to end in the steel cage. They’ll make history this Sunday, they’re going to hurt each other, and it’s inevitable. Hardy puts the microphone down and heads to the back. Short and to the point.

We look back at last week when James Storm (joined by his theme music guys) says he’s sick of Bobby Roode’s bulls**t, and then the music guys say that after Storm kicks his ass at Lockdown, he hopes they leave the cage open so they can get some too.

EY is backstage getting himself psyched up for his wedding when Sarita and Rosita walk in dressed like skanks to try and scare EY by telling him that they don’t think he and ODB are a good fit, and once he has that ring on, he’s stuck with her. They flash their boobs at him (I swear I’m not making that up) and asks Eric if he thinks he’s going to be missing anything, but EY freaks out and runs off.

It’s wedding time, and there’s a preacher behind a camouflage podium looking solemn as Eric Young comes out to the cage dressed in what appears to be one of Vince McMahon’s old, powder blue jackets. The Knockouts Tag Team Title belts are proudly on display as the bride music hits…then turns off. EY looks confused, but then ODB’s regular music hits and she comes out in a dress that looks like it was torn off a shower somewhere. Strangely, it’s the most feminine she’s probably ever looked, and she chains the cage door shut behind her so Eric has nowhere to run. The preacher says how symbolic the cage is for marriage because of the strength it takes to live in marriage together. We see a music video looking back at the crazy love Young and ODB have shared and how we got to where we are today, and then we hear they’re vows which they’ve prepared for each other. Eric says he promises to stay with ODB, even when she farts, and let her rub his feet anytime she wants…because he knows she’s into that. He vows to be his tag partner in wrestling and in life, now and for the rest of their lives together. ODB promises not to take his last name, but will take his ring music, and to slap his ass whenever necessary…because she knows he’s into that. She promises to give him a buffet of BAM anytime he wants (that gets an ODB chant from the crowd), then the preacher asks if anyone has a reason they should not be married, and of course Sarita and Rosita come out to object. They tried to show Eric what a real woman looks like backstage, but he ran. They’ll give Eric one last chance to choose whether he wants to stay with that beast, or be with the greatest Knockouts Tag Team Champions of all time. Rosita strips her robe off and she’s got her stripper outfit on underneath as Sarita says that could be all his. Now Sarita takes her robe off and she’s wearing a matching stripper outfit and shakes her ass as ODB starts crying. ODB says she gets it, she doesn’t have what those girls have, but those girls don’t have what she has. ODB tears off the dress to reveal her own underwear with her big BAMs and asks Eric what it’s going to be. Crowd chants for ODB, and EY walks over and holds her hands and says that she’s perfect for him and he’s been dreaming about this since she was a boy. He wanted to make this wedding perfect, and now they’ve found a way to make it perfect. Eric strips down to his own underwear, then ODB tells the preacher (who has somehow managed to keep a straight face through all this) to strip down as well so everyone matches. The preacher shrugs and decides to go with the flow, then asks Eric if he takes ODB to be his lawfully wedded wife. The crowd does the Daniel Bryan chant and EY says absolutely. Same question for ODB, same Daniel Bryan chant, and ODB says BAM, then the preacher pronounces them man and wife and ODB climbs on top of Eric as we get our happy ending.

We go backstage to Team Bischoff as Ric Flair gives Bully Ray a pep talk in preparation of his tiebreaker match with the third member of Garett’s team.

Bobby Roode is backstage with his security team and says that James Storm wants to see him face to face, and that’s fine because this is personal.

Bully Ray vs AJ Styles

Bubba has all of Team Ric at ringside, while AJ has Team Garett come out to the ring with him. Bubba takes AJ to the corner and tries a cheapshot, but AJ moves out of the way. Bubba takes AJ to the corner again, and AJ dodges another shot and this time returns fire. AJ gets a side headlock on Bubba, but gets eelvated and dropped hard to the mat with a back suplex. Bubba unloads with right hands and elbows, but comes off the ropes right into the swanky dropkick from AJ, who charges Bubba and gets backdropped out to the ring apron. Bubba boots AJ to the floor and Team Eric tries to go after him, but Team Garett shows up to stop them and leave this man on man. Bubba slingshots AJ into the ring and locks in a tight bearhug, AJ breaks free but takes a high BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK BODYDROP. Bubba misses a big splash and AJ starts firing back, comes off the ropes with a leaping clothesline, another one in the corner, but Bubba blocks a tornado DDT and gets a Samoan drop for 2. Bubba goes to the second rope, but AJ quickly gets to his feet and nails Bubba, then hits a Frankensteiner out of the corner and covers for 2. Frankie Kazarian grabs AJ’s ankle from the floor, and both teams wind up brawling on the floor as AJ hits a Pelle kick on Bubba and covers for 2. AJ goes out to the floor to join the fray as Eric Bischoff tosses Bubba his chain wallet, then Bubba nails AJ in the face with the chain as he comes off the top rope and covers him for the win.

Winner: Bully Ray

Team Eric celebrates, but Hulk Hogan’s music hits and he congratulates Eric on his win, then says he’s changing Lethal Lockdown to a five on five, and gives Eric three minutes to decide who his fifth man is. Hey, what a coincidence, we just HAPPEN to be going into a commercial! How about that?

We’re back and Hogan says Bischoff’s time is up, and Eric begs Ric Flair to join the team because he knows Hogan is going to make himself be the fifth man, then does an about face because he wants to stand over Garett’s broken body at the end, so he names himself the fifth man. Hogan says Eric is so predictable, but Hogan says that he’s taking his GM position seriously and won’t be in the match. However, he informed Garett of the change to five man teams a few days ago, and he and Garett introduce their new fifth man: Rob Van Dam, making his return to TNA after months off TV.

We go to a video package of James Storm, voiced over by Bobby Roode talking about how Storm winning the title before him was a joke because he carried Storm to all those tag titles and made him who he is. He’s accomplished a lot since Roode kicked him to the curb six months ago, and there’s nothing Roode won’t do to keep the title, and he won’t hold back because he’s going to prove that he’s the World Champion for a reason. We then go to James Storm, who says it took ten years to build a company, four years to build a friendship, and one bottle to ruin it all. But in three days, the bulls**t stops. Seriously, this may be the best build to any match in TNA history.

Gail Kim & Madison Rayne vs Velvet Sky & Mickie James

Anyone else notice that Gail Kim’s old music sounds a hell of a lot like the old Sid Justice entrance music from 1991? Velvet didn’t let the pigeons loose as she got into the ring, and Taz gets all bent out of shape over Velvet destroying the gimmick. Mickie and Madison start us off, Madison yanks Mickie to the mat by the hair, but Mickie catches her with a dropkick. Madison gets pissed and boots Mickie in the skull, then tags out to Gail Kim, who comes in and is promptly flapjacked in the middle of the ring. Velvet tags in and Gailimmediately bails to her corner and tags out to Madison. Velvet kicks the crap out of Madison and snapmares her so Mickie can come in and wipe her out with a basement dropkick. Gail hits Mickie from behind, then tags in and unloads on Mickie with kicks and a hard clothesline. Mickie and Gail double team Mickie, but Mickie dodges a charge and Gail crashes into the second turnbuckle, awkwardly crashing ribs first, and Mickie manages to make the tag. Velvet Sky comes in and unloads on Gail, then snaps off a flying headscissors and a running bulldog for 2. Velvet hits a snap DDT and then goes back after Gail, Velvet blocks Eat Da Feet and hits the sitout Pedigree, then pins the Knockouts Champion to win the match.

Winners: Velvet Sky & Mickie James

It’s time for the final face to face confrontation between James Storm and Bobby Roode before Lockdown this Sunday. Storm says that for the last few weeks, they’ve done a lot of talking. He asks if he remembers the time they were on a fifteen hour plane ride to Japan and laughed because they never thought they’d be the World Champion. They’re four time TNA World Tag Team Champions, the longest reigning tag champions in the history of TNA, travelled all over the world, entertained millions of people, kicked a lot of butt, and drank a lot of beer. Crowd starts a “beer” chant, and Roode says he’s not going to pretend that Beer Money never existed. Beer Money was one of the greatest teams in the history of the business, and being part of it was one of the proudest moments in his career in life, but there’s another proud moment that they probably both remember, which was last year when they put their tag team aspirations aside and entered the Bound For Glory Series for a shot at the World Title. They both wound up in the final four and made it to the semifinals, but only Roode made it to the finals, and he went on to win the whole thing. That sent him to Bound For Glory where he challenged for the World Title while Storm sat in the back twiddling his thumbs and drinking his beer. Storm says he remembers doing something: he was sitting their drinking beer and watching the monitor when Roode got beat. Storm asks if he remembers the next week when he beat the guy who beat Roode, in record time no less. Roode says he vaguely remembers it because Storm’s reign was so short that two weeks later, Roode not only beat him for the title, but became the It Factor of professional wrestling and the leader of the selfish generation. Storm says he’s glad he brought that up because it was the night Roode hit him in the head with a beer bottle and destroyed the legacy of Beer Money and their friendship. Roode tells Storm to cut the bulls**t because they were never friends. They hated each other when they met, and the only reason they were so successful was because of their individual passions for the business. All the stuff about hanging out drinking beer is crap because they hated each other, and from day one, Storm has been jealous of him. Storm asks what he has to be jealous of, because where he comes from, family and friends mean something and you don’t sell them out for money like Roode did. Storm does this for the love of the sport, and he does it for all the fans, and his superkick leg is getting tired from the trip down memory lane, so no more history class because in three days, they step into the cage to kick the crap out of each other in Storm’s hometown of Nashville, in front of his friends and family. Roode says he doesn’t give a crap about Nashville, his hillbilly wife, or his redneck kids. Storm takes his jacket off and so does Roode, and Storm says Roode won’t need luck, he’ll need a damn miracle to walk out of that cage, and Roode says he’s heard Storm’s line a million times and he’s sick of it. He tells Storm to look at him, dammit, and in three days, Storm will be lucky to walk out of that cage, and says that Storm has no luck with his two dead brothers and his dead father. Storm and Roode go nose to nose, and we go off the air.

RAW SuperShow rating breakdown for 4/9/12

0

As noted before, Monday’s RAW Supershow from Washington, DC drew a 3.10 rating with 4.29 million viewers. RAW this week was third for the night on cable. This week’s show was down 21% from the 5.46 million viewers of the week after WrestleMania in 2011. That says a lot because last year there was no big bombshell along the lines of Brock Lesnar’s return.

In the segment breakdown, Santino Marella & Brodus Clay vs. Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger lost 99,000 viewers from the opener. A backstage segment with John Laurinaitis, The Miz and John Cena plus Santino looking for The Three Stooges and R-Truth vs. Cody Rhodes gained 255,000 viewers. Lord Tensai vs. Yoshi Tatsu lost 415,000 viewers.

The segment between CM Punk and Chris Jericho at 10pm gained 379,000 viewers for a 3.19 quarter rating. Punk vs. Mark Henry and the post-match angle with Chris Jericho giving a beer bath to Punk as well as the Alberto Del Rio vs. Zack Ryder lost 169,000 viewers. The segment with The Three Stooges lost 240,000 viewers and was the low point of the show at a 2.90 quarter rating.

The backstage interview with Brock Lesnar gained 423,000 viewers. The main event with John Cena vs. David Otunga and the Lesnar run-in gained 301,000 viewers. This is considered a weak overrun rating at a 3.42.
