Ted Linhart, the VP of Program Research at USA Network, just posted on his Twitter page that when the Live + Following 7 days rating information came in for the premiere of Tough Enough, the total audience went up 19% to nearly four million viewers.
The all important (to advertisers) 18-49 demographic went up 17% to 2.3 million viewers. That made the already strong debut stronger.
Hopefully, the plus seven data for the subsequent broadcasts, where the audience has dropped, will go up similarly.

This week’s show starts off with last week’s retirement speech by Edge with video footage of his career mixed in. We see highlights from last week’s Number Two Contender Battle Royal to see who would face Alberto Del Rio at Extreme Rules. While Alberto Del Rio will not get to face Edge, he will face Edge’s best friend for the World Title.
We are live on tape from London, England and your announcers are Josh ‘I need a raise to work with bubble boy’ Mathews, Booker ‘If Jerry isn’t going to call BS on the fake royalty thing, I will’ T, and Michael ‘King Ralph was more believable’ Cole.
The World Title is hanging above the ring since the World Title match at Extreme Rules is a ladder match. Two titles are on the line tonight as the Corre puts their titles on the line. Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater face Big Show and Kane in a Tag Title Match; and Wade Barrett defends the Intercontinental Title against the man he beat for the title, Kofi Kingston.
Michael Cole comes to the ring wearing Booker’s old robe and he enters Suckingham Palace.
Cody Rhodes has something to say before his Wrestlemania Rematch match against Rey Mysterio.
Cody has some assistants with him and one is pushing a shopping cart with paper bags. Cody brings one of the bags into the ring with him.
Cody says that everyone can see that he is wearing a mask. His mask is for protection . . . protection only. Rey Mysterio wears a mask because he is hiding something. Rey is hiding his fears. He is hiding his loathing thoughts for all of the fans. He is hiding because Rey is ashamed of himself . . . and he should be.
In a matter of speaking, everyone is wearing masks as well. Cody says that he can see through their masks and he can see in their faces, their envy of him. He says that he can see in all of their faces, the look of despair because their lives are miserable. Cody says that the sick thing is that no matter how bad it is for you, you hope it is worse for your neighbors, your friends, and your family. He says that you probably cannot stand to look at them.
Tonight, Cody says that he offers a remedy at his expense. Cody shows a paper bag with the face cut out. He says that this is a paper bag and he wants his assistants to assist him by handing them out. Cody says that he wants everyone to cover their faces and their lying eyes. They will cover the black heads protruding on your proboscises. They will cover your rotten teeth. Cody wants them to cover their faces until he is hopefully drafted off this show, or at least until he defeats Rey Mysterio tonight, like he did at Wrestlemania.
Cody removes the hood from his jacket and he holds up the bag in his hand and he tells Rey that this one is for him.

We go to commercial.
We go to the Corre locker room and Justin gets his title belt. He reminds Wade that he eliminated him last week in the battle royal, but he says that Wade would have done the same thing because a World Title match was on the line. Justin says nothing personal and Wade says the same. Then Wade says that maybe it is personal because he wouldn’t have done it to Justin.
Heath enters and he hears them talking about last week and he tells them that they would both sell their grandmothers down the river to get ahead. Heath wants to talk about unity. They are all equals and there are no leaders.
Ezekiel enters and he mentions the two title matches tonight and he says that as the leader, he is there for all of them. Wade stares a hole through Jackson and he tells Wade that he is messing around with him.
Wade suggests that they should be the ones messing with Jackson. They all have a good laugh.
Booker and Josh wonder if the Corre are going to be able to work together and be unified. Josh takes the opportunity to bring up the counseling that LayCool has attended and suggests that maybe the Corre should go down that path.
It is time to take a look back at last week’s counseling session with Layla and Michelle. Then we see what happened on Smackdown when Michelle attacked Layla during and after the match.
It is time to see the latest counseling session. Michelle says that the therapy is working wonders because Layla lost another match and she gives a sarcastic cheer. Layla points out that at least she competed and mocked her commentary. Michelle tells Layla that she wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for her, but Layla points out that it was her idea to go to therapy. Michelle means being a semi-successful diva. Michelle says that Layla is riding her coattails. Speaking of coats, Michelle wants her coat back from Layla.
The therapist wants to say something but that is shot down by both ladies who can still do something together. Layla reminds Michelle that the coat was a gift. Michelle says that Layla wants everything that is hers, just like she wanted to have Michelle’s title. Layla says that she was Divas champ as much as Michelle and she wants Michelle to show her some respect or LayCool cannot survive.
Michelle thinks that it might be best if LayCool ends because she doesn’t think that Layla is flawless. Michelle says that this is a waste of time and she apologizes. Michelle hugs Layla and then while Layla thanks the therapist for sitting there for the two sessions, Michelle grabs Layla from behind and throws her into the couch. Michelle storms out of the office and Layla is left crying.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Did You Know that they needed a total of 79 trucks for all of the equipment used at Wrestlemania?

TNA Impact on Thursday, April 14 leading into the Lockdown PPV scored a 1.14 rating off identical 1.14 ratings in the first and second hours.
After steady quarter-hour ratings in first hour, there was a wild swing to start the second hour. Impact’s second hour started with a show-high 1.30 rating, then dipped to a show-low 0.98 rating in Q6.
Impact rebounded in Q7 with an uptick of one-tenth of a rating. This was followed by another one-tenth uptick in Q8 to finish the show with a 1.19 rating.
Comparing each quarter-hour rating to the corresponding 2011 averages, only Q5 (1.30 rating) was above the yearly average (1.28). In the other seven quarter-hours, Impact was down 4-to-20 percent.
First Hour Break Down
Q1: Impact opened with a 1.12 rating for the standard Immortal vs. Mr. Anderson talking segment. There was a full commercial break in Q1, which could have dragged down the rating, when TNA usually goes the full 13-15 minutes in Q1. (down 13% vs. 2011 average)
Q2: Impact stayed flat with a 1.11 rating for the four-way match previewing the four-team tag match at Lockdown. There was also one commercial. (down 9% vs. 2011 average)
Q3: Impact scored the highest quarter-hour rating of the first hour with a 1.17 rating for Kazarian vs. Matt Hardy, one commercial, and the Knockouts segment of the show involving Madison Rayne, Tara, and Mickie James. (down 5% vs. 2011 average)
Q4: Impact declined slightly to a 1.14 rating for the six-man tag match of Angle & Morgan & Joe vs. Jarrett & Hernandez & Pope and two very long commercials. It’s remarkable the rating held up considering half of the quarter-hour was a commercial. (down 3% vs. 2011 average)
Second Hour Break Down
Q5: Impact opened the second hour with a strong surge to a 1.30 rating (14 percent increase from Q4). This segment featured the end of the six-man tag, a commercial, and Hulk Hogan, Sting, and Eric Bischoff having a pow-wow. (up 2% vs. 2011 average)
Q6: Impact then had a wild swing downward to a 0.98 rating (25 percent decline from Q5) for Abyss vs. James Storm and one-a-and-a-half commercial breaks. (down 20% vs. 2011 average)
Q7: Impact rebounded to a 1.09 rating for the second Knockouts segment of the show featuring Velvet Sky, Angelina, and Winter, then one commercial, and the first-half of Mr. Anderson’s gauntlet match. (down 7% vs. 2011 average)
Q8: Impact upticked again to a 1.19 rating for the conclusion of Anderson’s gauntlet, one commercial, and the final Reaction interviews leading to Lockdown. (down 4% vs. 2011 average)

The 4/18 edition of Tough Enough did a 1.53 rating with 2,196,000 viewers, so it dropped again. The replay that aired after Raw did a 1.16 rating with 1,568,000 viewers so the aggregate remained solid.
The 4/18 edition of Raw did a 3.1 rating, with 4.7 million viewers, which isn’t good compared to recent shows. To make matters worse the show had a drop in viewership as the night went on as house one did a 3.19 and hour two did a 3.06.

We begin tonight’s show with a look back at Edge’s victory over Alberto Del Rio at Wrestlemania. Then we move ahead to Edge’s comments from this Monday’s Raw when he announced his retirement. What will happen when Edge forfeits his title?

Tony Chimmel introduces Ricardo Rodriguez so he can introduce Alberto Del Rio. Alberto drives into the arena in a new vehicle.
Alberto gets the mic and he reminds us who he is, but tonight is not about him. It is about somebody else. Last Monday on Raw, when Edge announced his retirement the entire locker room and the WWE Universe lost a hero. When he thinks about Edge, he thinks about respect. In his thirteen years in WWE, he held more titles than anyone else. Now he is giving up on everything in this incredible business. Alberto says that he cannot imagine how Edge feels right now.
This was his life. It was his passion. It was his love. Alberto says that even though it was his destiny to be the World Champion, he did not want it to happen this way. Since Alberto says that since Edge is here to surrender the World Title, and because he earned the number one contender spot, Edge should come out right now and present him with the World Title.
Alberto waits for Edge to come out to give him the title and the fans chant for Edge.
Instead of Edge, Smackdown General Manager Teddy Long makes his way to the ring.
Alberto and Teddy shake hands and Teddy tells Alberto that he is sorry to disappoint him because it is not going to go down the way that Alberto suggested. No one is presenting Alberto with anything.
Teddy agrees with Alberto that he is the number one contender. He says that Alberto has earned the right to wrestle for the title at Extreme Rules in a Ladder Match. That is what Alberto is going to do. We will find out who Alberto faces and it will be determined in a twenty man battle royal.
Alberto wants to know what Teddy is talking about. Alberto says that he should be the champion. Alberto says that this is a conspiracy. Alberto says that he never liked Teddy.
Teddy tells Alberto that is how they roll on Smackdown. Alberto tells Teddy that he is glad that he hurt Edge. Alberto says that he is glad that he is the man who forced Edge to retire. It was Edge’s destiny to end up like a crippled coward. Alberto says that it is also his destiny to be the World Champion.

If he wins the World Title, is there a victory? Is there a moment or anything that will erase from his memory the disfigurement and the monster that looked back in the mirror after him when Rey Mysterio purposefully crushed his face.
