WCRadioNewRSZ

On this episode of WRESTLECHAT RADIO presented by FANJUNKIES.NET, hosts Brett Clendaniel and Jim Williams are joined by special guests John Philapavage (Producer, Director of “Barbed Wire City“) and CamelClutchBlog.com & Pro Wrestling Radio host Eric Gargiulo.

Philapavage goes into great detail about “Barbed Wire City”.  Among the topics we discuss are the challenges with funding the film via Kickstarter, why it seems that so many of the ECW Originals in the film still hold resentment towards Paul Heyman, the infamous Mass Transit incident, working with Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan, how he feels about guys like Axl Rotten and Balls Mahoney who still struggle with ECW’s closing, if he has any regrets now that the film has completed, and gives some details on the extended cut that expected out later this year.  We also discuss the special screening of the film this Thursday, May 23rd, at the Pickwick Theatre in Chicago.

Eric Gargiulo joins us in breaking down the fallout from both Extreme Rules and RAW.  We discuss in detail The Shield capturing all kinds of gold at Sunday’s big event and the HUGE name that Eric thinks Dean Ambrose is on a collision course to face at SummerSlam.  We also talk about Curtis Axel’s debut and discuss whether or not the ending to last night’s show with Triple H spoiled his debut at all.  We briefly gaze down the the WWE roster to see who the “Next John Cena” is.  Finally, we discuss the brand new format of Gargiulo’s Pre Wrestling Radio with new co-host, Wildkat Sports head honcho Luke Hawx.

Wildkat Pro Wrestling “Back to School” Review & Results; Luke Hawx Becomes Wildkat Heavyweight Champion

0

The following review was written by long-time WrestleChat.net contributor, Jeremy Plauche.  You can follow Jeremy on Twitter @plauchej and on Facebook here.

Last night I had an awesome time at Wildkat Wrestling’s ‘Back to School’ event held at JD Meisler Middle School in Metairie, Louisiana.

Before the doors opened, I had the opportunity to talk to a group of individuals who call themselves the Heel World Order. These guys are some of Wildkats biggest fans, donning their HWO shirts and signs; they were ready from some action. I asked the group, who was comprised of Joe R., Ryan K., Lyman Z., David T., Starman, and Bryan K., who their favorite wrestlers were and what they liked about Wildkat Wrestling. The fan favorites among the group were Jack Jameson and the Southern Stomper himself, Luke Hawx.

The Heel World Order told me that they really enjoy watching Wildkat because it’s in your face action. They always have a great time, the friendly atmosphere is awesome, and they are thrilled that Indy wrestling is being put back on the map here in Louisiana. Ryan K. was Syfy Channels WM 27 contest winner, winning an all expense trip for two to Wrestlemania 27. You can follow these guys on Twitter @HeelWorldOrder

I also spoke to the official Wildkat photographer, Jon-Paul LeBlanc. LeBlanc tells WrestleChat that he likes the Wildkat crew as a whole. He stated that Wildkat is a great ambassador for Indy wrestling, representing Louisiana very well. LeBlanc is a photographer for a dozen other wrestling promoters, some of which were having events the same night, he chose to come to Wildkat.

Now its time to start the show, the night opens with Brett Landry and Big Ramp in the ring welcoming everyone and getting the crowd pumped up. Those in attendance were obviously ready by how loud that gymnasium was.

Here are the results from Wildkat Wrestings Back to School from Metairie, LA

  • Bolt Brady/Buku Dao/Houston Carson def. Ricky Starks/Byron Wilcott/Curt Matthews via pinfall by Buku Dao.
  • Jack Jameson def. Kadaver via pinfall. After the match, I spoke with Jameson on his first win here at Wildkat. Jameson stated; ‘I’ve been here about a year and a half and this win has brought some prestige to my beard.”
  • Rudy Russo def. Haniel T via a controversial pinfall, Russo blatantly used to ropes to his advantage while pinning Haniel T.
  • In a Newcomer Match: John Saxxon def. Purple Haze via pinfall. I spoke to purple haze after the match. Although not having a win tonight, Purple Haze was still in good spirits when I asked what he liked about wrestling with Wildkat. He stated; “This is a big opportunity! This opens a lot of doors and gives me the chance with gain experience with the vets of the business.”
  • “The Outlaw” Matt Lanci w/ Hardbody Harper def. Sgt. Soccorro in a Grudge Match via pinfall
  • Hot Shot Blake Wilder def. Mike Dell via pinfall. This was Blake’s first match back after an injury. Both Wilder and the Jersey native Mike Dell put on a great match.
  • Luke Hawx and Wes Adams def. Steve Anthony(C) and The Minotaur via pinfall in a title shot vs. Perry Hawx hair match. The stipulation was that if Hawx/Adams won then Hawx would have an opportunity at the Wildkat World Heavyweight Championship. If they lost, then Steve Anthony would shave Perry Hawx’s bald!
  • After the win, Hawx challenged Anthony to a title match on the spot. Refusing to fight Hawx, Anthony attempted to make his way to the back before being stopped by the Wildkat Superstars. Anthony was thrown back into the ring and our championship match was underway. In the end, Hawx came out on top as Wildkat World Heavyweight Champion.

After the crowds left, I caught up with Wes Adams, a former WWE referee, who has been wrestling with Wildkat for over a year. Adams says he love wrestling alongside Hawx and the rest of the WildKat Superstars. Adams spent two years with WWE as an ECW and Smackdown Ref.

To conclude the night, I spoke briefly with Luke Hawx, who was very excited about his championship win. I asked Luke what he thought about his WWE tryout. He stated there was a lot of training and had to opportunity to wrestle in front of Bill DeMott, Joey Mercury, William Regal, and Dusty Rhodes.

Did John Cena Cheat on His Ex-Wife With Porn Star Kendra Lust? (NSFW Pics Included)

0

A massive rumor (and I stress the word “RUMOR”) has hit the Internet today claiming that John Cena’s divorce actually came to an end because he had a year-long affair with porn star Kendra Lust.   In this “report” from WrestlingForum.com, a claim is made that Cena’s ex-wife, Elizabeth Huberdeau,  has actually revealed this information itself.

Here is the post word-for-word from the source:

“John Cena’s ex wife Elizabeth Huberdeau has revealed the reason why the couple split. She says Cena cheated on her with a porn star by the name of Kendra Lust. Cena apparently met this woman at the gym and they hit it off. Cena had sex with Kendra Lust over the period of 1 year. Viewing Kendra Lust’s twitter posts confirms this story and the WWE is now scrambling to keep this story under wraps. The WWE has already threatened Elizabeth Huberdeau with a lawsuit and has asked Kendra Lust to delete her twitter account. More developing…”

As of this time, there are 41 pages to the thread and the author ignores repeated questions as to the source of this information.  At one point, the author points to another forum discussing the same topic and an old tweet from Lust wearing a replica WWE title as “proof” to back up his claim.  His “proof” were these two pictures:

KendraLust1

KendraLust2

We reached out directly to Lust for her response to these claims and she was quick to completely deny that this is any truth at all to this.  Lust told us that she “has been a WWF/WWE fan” since she was a kid.

When asked about the pictures above on her Twitter account of her wearing a replica belt, she asked rhetorically, “don’t a million people have those titles?”

She was also asked if she had ever met John Cena, to which she emphatically stated, “I do not know John Cena.”

Two of the claims listed in the “report” above are that Lust has been asked by the WWE to delete her Twitter account and that they are pursuing some type of lawsuit to prevent this news from getting out.  Kendra says flat out, “No”, that she has not been asked to delete her Twitter and laughed at the prospect of being included in a lawsuit.

At the end of our conversation, I asked her one last time if she knew John Cena.  ”I don’t know John Cena, but he is hot.”

You can follow Kendra Lust on Twitter, @KendraLust

We have sent an e-mail to the WWE’s PR team for a response to this rumor but have yet to receive a response.

EXCLUSIVE: List of Indy Stars Who Attended WWE’s Invite Only Tryout Camp This Past Weekend & Who Stood Out Most

0

As many of you know, WWE held tryouts this weekend down in Tampa, Florida at their Developmental headquarters.  This round of tryouts was talked about for months since WWE was inviting the people they felt were most of the current top Indy names available.  Names noticeably absent from the list are Sami Callihan (who attended a smaller WWE tryout a few weeks ago) and the Briscoe Brothers (who were extended an invite, but declined).  Here are the names of some attendees:

- Mike Bennett (Current ROH star, fiance of former WWE Diva, Maria Kanelis)

- Adam Cole (Current PWG World Champion, ROH Television Champion, & CZW star)

- Luke Hawx (Current Wildkat Sports Owner/Trainer who has appeared on several live WWE shows since 2008)

- Samurai Del Sol (Current DGUSA & Evolve star)

- Ricky Reyes (Known for work in WWC, ROH, and PWG. One-Half of “Havana Pitbulls” with Rocky Romero)

- Smith “Big Game” James (Team Taz student known for work in NECW & NWA)

According to two separate sources, WWE officials were extremely impressed with many of the people that attended this weekend.  One source told us that Friday wasn’t a good day for just about any of them and that Saturday was easily the best day for the group.  Of the names listed above, we’re told that Adam Cole, Luke Hawx, and Smith James stood out the most among everyone.

Jim Ross also commented on the tryouts in his blog, saying that he expects a “handful of offers to be extended” to a few in this group.  Yesterday, at the close of the camp, he said, ““Camp’s over. Another fun day. Now the hard part. Evaluations. Debate. Both healthy within the big picture. I’m likely too picky, honestly.”

We’ll keep you posted as we hear more.

EXCLUSIVE: Tammy “Sunny” Sytch Arrested Once Again; Turned in by Ex-Boyfriend For Missing Court Ordered Rehab

0

Tammy Lynn Sytch

Tammy “Sunny” Sytch just can’t seem to stay out of trouble.

After being arrested five times over a four week span from September to October 2012, Sytch was arrested once again in the last 48 hours and is currently being held on an undisclosed amount of bail.  Sytch was actually turned in to police by her fiance/ex-boyfriend after she missed a mandatory court-ordered rehab appearance.  She is facing a minimum of two years in prison for violating the terms of her parole agreement.

According to our source who could not reveal specifics, the amount of bail is “in the six figures.”

Sytch and her boyfriend, indy star Damien Darling, have found themselves all over the headlines in recent months.  Back in October, Sytch broke a restraining order by climbing a balcony to enter Darling’s home.  She was arrested and placed under a protective order that was to prevent her from assaulting, threatening, abusing, harassing, following, interfering with or stalking her ex-boyfriend. She was also ordered to stay away from his home, not contact him and not come within 100 yards of him.

Days later, Sytch avoided jail time by agreeing to enter a WWE-sponsored rehab facility in Pennsylvania.  WWE, which offers rehabilitation assistance to all former contracted talent, agreed to provide transportation from court to the treatment center and cover all associated expenses.

Just last month, Sytch requested to have a restraining order lifted in order to begin seeing Darling again, but that request was denied.  ”But all’s not lost … Tammy vows to clean herself up and is undergoing court-ordered rehab in hopes she can finally defeat her demons,” stated her lawyer, Rob Serafinowicz, after that hearing.

We reached out to a WWE spokesman for comment, but they have yet to reply with a response.

We’ll post more detail as we receive them.

EXCLUSIVE Update on Reports That Popular Indy Star El Generico Has Signed With WWE

0

PWPonderings.com reported yesterday that their sources say WWE has agreed to a deal with top independent wrestling star El Generico. Their sources include two independent wrestling promoters.  There was no concrete confirmation at the time, but Generico has been on WWE’s radar for some time.

We reached out to multiple wrestling promoters last night who often book Generico and promised to keep any comments private.  We ended up getting two responses from two separate companies confirming that Generico has indeed informed them a deal is in the works.

One of them said that to the best of his knowledge, the deal hasn’t been completed yet and, if it was, he was yet to be notified.  He also said that he was aware that Generico was being courted by WWE.

The other promoter stated that he’s known since September that Generico was being looked at by WWE and that Gerald Brisco personally attended a show recently to see him work once again. He also said that he’s yet to be notified of any deal being done, but that he (the promoter) has been considering these negotiations for months for storyline purposes, as he doesn’t want to be stuck once Generico is officially signed.

Whatever the case, it sure seems that El Generico is indeed on his way to Stamford.

EXCLUSIVE: “Wrestlers Rescue” Media Relations Member Telling Others That He’s Leaving The Charity Due to “Shady Practices”

0

Before I get into the new development that has come out regarding “Wrestler’s Rescue”, let’s recap a brief timeline of events.

  • It all started when James “Kamala” Harris came out and accused Dawn Marie’s “Wrestler’s Rescue” of soliciting donations on his behalf and then never paying him.  You can see that video HERE.
  • Dawn Marie comments that Kamala was indeed sent a check, but that he “opted not to accept” it because it “took too long for him to receive it.
  • Dawn Marie’s agent, Michele Mupo, provides their proof in defense of Wrestlers Rescue by providing a copy of the check mailed to Kamala, a copy of the envelope showing the postage date, and a letter from the bank showing that they issued a stop payment request on Kamala’s check.  You can see those things HERE.
  • Dawn Marie releases a two-part video in defense of Wrestler’s Rescue and explains past claims against the organization such as those with “Dr. Death” Steve Williams and Jerry Lynn.
  • Kamala claims Dawn Marie did send him a check, but that when he went to cash it, it was declined due to “insufficient funds.”  You can see his statement HERE.
  • Dawn Marie posts a bank statement saying that Kamala is lying about the “insufficient funds” and that there was actually money in the account.  You can see the bank statement HERE.

So things have been pretty quiet on everything since the middle of last week when all of that stuff happened.  That changed today when it was revealed that Vincent DiBenedetto, who is listed on Wrestler Rescue’s website as a member of the Wrestler’s Rescue Media relations team, has been sending secret e-mails without the knowledge of Dawn Marie or Mupo in which he claims that he does not support Wrestlers Rescue any longer and is stepping away from the organization to “cover his ass” in case any immoral practices are uncovered.

Since sending this e-mail, DiBenedetto has continued to defend Wrestlers Rescue publicly on social networking.  Behind-the-scenes, however, he has been telling multiple people in the industry of his intentions to step away from the charity.  He has also been informing people that him and his fiance have pulled their own $302 donation back from Wrestlers Rescue and were going to send it to Kamala directly.  At this point, we do not know if he actually sent it to Kamala or not.

Below is a copy of an e-mail that we received that DiBenedetto sent to a wrestling personality.  Here is the screenshot:

A tweet was sent out by us to both Dawn Marie and Michele Mupo to give them an opportunity to provide comment on this story prior to it being posted.  Thus far, neither have responded.  A phone call was also placed directly to Mupo as well, but she did not answer.
We’ll post more information as we receive it.

EXCLUSIVE: Reason Why Edge Was Not at the 1,000th Episode of RAW Revealed

0

We have received word from an extremel credible source close to Edge that the reason why Edge was not at RAW was simply because Edge is not under any sort of WWE contract at the moment and that the two sides have had zero contact since April 23, 2012.

We reported back in April right here on WrestleChat that Edge’s WWE contract would be expiring on May 1, 2012 and that the WWE was extremely unhappy that news of the sour negotiations had gotten out to the public.  WWE wanted Edge to agree to a Legend’s deal similar to that of Shawn Michaels and Mick Foley in which WWE would have final say over all outside projects that he could take on.

Edge was said to be extremely upset when the WWE reportedly gave him a “low-ball” offer when he appeared at RAW on April 23rd from Detroit.  It was reported by us that Edge was strictly in town to hammer out details of a contract and come to some sort of an agreement.  Unfortunately, that never happened after Edge was offered an annual salary that is much less than Mick Foley’s.

Keep in mind that many of the WWE Legends that appeared on last night’s show (such as Sid, Rikishi, and Vader) also do not have any WWE contracts, but still appeared on the big 1,000th episode of RAW anyway.  With that in mind, it tells you exactly how bad the relationship between Edge and the WWE is at the moment.

When asked, via e-mail, exactly how bad the relationship between WWE and Edge is at the moment, I got a one word reply – “nonexistent”.

More on it as we receive it.

EXCLUSIVE: Luke Hawx, Konnan, & Glenn “Disco Inferno” Gilbertti Get Into Huge War of Words on Facebook

Luke Hawx and Konnan had a dust-up at an Indy show years back over a few things that we’re not so short about.  It looks like those instances came to a head last night on the Facebook account of a mutual friend.  Here are the screenshots of everything that went down with Hawx calling out Konnan and Konnan threatening to have his friends take out Hawx for “disrespecting” him.

Report: Location for Wrestlemania 30 nearing deal

0

According to our sources the WWE is in talks right now with the New Orleans Superdome to host Wrestlemania 30 in 2014. Nothing has been finalized yet be we have been told by our sources that the WWE & Superdome representatives are “in the works right now” to making it official.

This news is coming off the report from earlier this morning that the WWE would be announcing MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey as the host of Wrestlemania 29 in 2013. Interesting to note that the WWE will be hosting their next two Wrestlemania’s in the same areas where the next two Super Bowl’s will be held. Super Bowl 47 will be in the New Orleans Superdome in 2013 while Super Bowl 48 will be held in MetLife Stadium in 2014.

The deal to bring Wrestlemania 30 to the Superdome would also mean that the long standing tradition of bringing Wrestlemania to Madison Square Garden in New York City every 10 years will be no more.
